Stopped Snoring!
A friend and I have both been trying for years to figure out a way to keep our jaws from falling open when we sleep, causing horrible dry mouth and snoring when we fall on our backs. She had even tried (unsuccessfully) duck taping her mouth closed at night so her snoring wouldn't keep her husband awake. When I was complaining to my husband that falling on my back caused my head to fall forward so I would wake myself up loudly gasping for breath, he suggested I try a neck brace. My first thought was of comic movies where the loser is trying to fake whiplash with a big foam neck brace, but when I looked on amazon I quickly found this brace. I measured my scrawny neck and ordered the Medium size. When I first tried it on, I thought feeling the brace might keep me awake, so I wrapped a satin scarf around it for the first week until I got used to it. The results were nothing short of miraculous. Not only does it keep my chin at approximately a ninety degree angle from my neck so that my airway stays open, but it enables me to sleep on my back all night hardly budging. Sleeping on my side had caused shoulder and hip pain to the point where I would toss and turn and get tangled in the bedding and night clothes. I had to keep water on the nightstand because my mouth would get miserably dry several times a night.I've been using the neck brace at night for the past two months. I now sleep eight hours a night in quiet comfort. My friend told me her brace has helped her sore tennis shoulder because she doesn't have to sleep on her side. Who would have thought such a simple piece of equipment could have immediately solved the snoring, gasping, aching, and dry mouth problem? I think I'll also take it on the plane with me so I won't drool if I fall asleep on the flight.

Hard to sleep in but comfy, strong. Maybe sewn upside down. Still, better than other brands
More comfortable than the regular foam slabs. But still hard to sleep in. The overlap digs into the neck, causes more pain and tingling-numbness in that spot. Spinning the closing to the side helps that spot, but then it does the same thing in the new spot. This might be because of very weak neck muscles though. The best thing we have found is to use a turtleneck, hoodie, or soft thick scarf to cushion the hard overlap spot. Velcro is strong and seems better quality than other brands we have tried, is trimmed to an oval, so it isn't sharp and doesn't poke or cut into the skin like other brands. Chin and neck get good support even though the foam and cover are softer and comfy. The entire thing might have been sewn upside-down. The chin support should cup it a bit, but if the black band goes on the bottom like in the pictures, the cup is upside-down and presses upwards. But if we flip it so the black band is on the bottom, it fits better. But still can’t figure out how to adjust the bottom band since the velcro is a single strip like in the drawing, not a two-part curve like in the photo. The brace came in a ziplock bag and there was a faint foam smell when we put it on, but that went away after a very short time. Size was ok, painful but necessary overlap on a 13 inch neck. When you measure, make sure to add a couple inches to your measurements for when it curves and the bending uses up length. Otherwise, it might be short, too tight. We found ways to handle handled all these weird things. So overall, we think it gives good support but is too hard to sleep in, a big minus, maybe sewn upside-down, but it is better than other foam braces we have seen and tried. It isn't as advertised and seems more expensive than it should be even if it was. Next, we will try HotHands hand warmer tucked in to help with worsening neck pain. These all can be hard to fit and get used so be patient and talk to your doctor. Good luck.

Best comfort by far
I graduated from a hard collar to this soft collar (per my doctor’s recommendations) and it is amazing. After my neck injury, life sucked donkey balls, and continues to. On days where I really need some neck relief, this helps tremendously because you can just relax the muscles in your neck. I generally try not to have this on for too long (more than 6 hours) because it will start to hurt the back of my neck only because I have a large manly neck. Overall comfort is amazing. If you’re looking for a neck brace, this would be my choice. Fyi, I did buy a different collar from amazon, because I thought this one looked funky, but the other one I bought hurt and is too small. This one all day long if need be.

Not the greatest
It is so stiff and velcro scratched my neck. Wanting to return but they only allow from ups stores which is 80 miles from me. I guess I'm stuck
