Excellent drive, works flawlessly; confirmed drop resistant; recommend it highly
I wanted a ruggedized drive after others I had were dropped. I bought it in May 2023, and it has been my "daily driver' where I store over 7 million files, about 1.9 TB of disk space. It has always provided outstanding performance. Twice, by accident, I unfortunately discovered that, as advertised, it will survive a 3-foot drop onto a hard tile floor, and it never noticed. That happened more than a year ago, so it's not really "unfortunate" after all. I can't recommend it highly enough. It does its job, works perfectly, and keeps my files safe and sound. An unqualified recommendation: if you need to store a lot of data on a portable drive and don't want to worry about it being dropped,, buy this one.

Great for photos!
I have several different models of this item. I use one for weekly backup, another for photos and a spare just in case one fails. This one works great, connecting cord is a good length and it is a good size. Will buy again.

AMAZING DEVICE!!
Id purchased a few other usb external hd's and they broke after a few months which was such a hassle after collecting so much info on them. This hard drive is very sturdy and durable. Also comes with cord and with a spot to secure it. Id recommend simply because it is so rugged and can withstand a few drops, even though id never recommend dropping your external

Works as advertised!
Set up and installation was intuitive. This unit was purchased for Xbox One extended storage. Which is irritating because with the size of games why hasn't Microsoft/Xbox made a larger 3 or 4 Tera drive stock. This drive has been running to load and save games since Christmas 2018. All of my games so far 91 of them transferred from the Xbox to the portable hard drive without a glitch. We'll see just how long this drive lasts, I don't ever unplug it or transfer/transport it anywhere. It just sits on top of the Xbox. The only thing I had to do during the set up was configure it which was just a click and command on the menu very quick and simple. It's small about the same size and weight as an 8oz steak and seems to be very sturdy. It comes with adapter plugs and like I said before just plugged in turned on and automatically connected to the Xbox after just a few clicks.

Best backup for my recent laptop
A very sleek and small factor back up solution, some will say “elegant “, but what ever we call it, it’s a nice design and also w lot of space!

Works on Windows 10, not on Windows 11
I purchased this drive to complement my collection of back up drives. I have several, all from different manufacturers. I realized, just like banking, you don't want to store all your precious data on hard drives from the same company. This was my first SP drive and with high hopes from reading all the glorious reviews. At the time of purchase (Sep. 2024), my 7 year old HP AIO connected to it without issues and backed up my data seamlessly, or as I thought initially. Soon after (Nov. 2024) I upgraded my PC to a newer and faster HP AIO but this SP HDD drive keeps failing to appear on Windows. A few google searches makes me believe that I am not the only one with this issue. After following all the suggestions (Device manager, Disk management uninstall/reinstall/reboot, etc) none of them seem to work. I still have my other back up drives so I still have access to my data but since I already have data on this new SP, which is obsolete at this point, neither can I access the drive to reformat to send it back or toss it out entirely. Now it's just sitting on my desk collecting dust and it's been a waste of my time and money. =(

Quality Product and Easy Support
I bought this about 6 months ago and love it. I've had no problems with it. I use it to store thousands of photos that I shoot with my DSLR. I had a problem the other day (that turned out to be my fault for not using "safely remove" in Windows. The drive became unreadable. I visited the Silicon Power web site and started a Support chat. It was in Facebook Messenger, which wasn't a problem for me. They responded to my issue very quickly. It did not take them long to discover what I had done wrong. They let me know how to avoid the issue and how to recover from it. They even gave me some advice on software that I could use to recover my files. I really appreciate friendly and intelligent support! 5 stars!
