The Tefal Breadmaker makes great tasting Loaves
I am very pleased with the Tefal Breadmaker (Pain & Delices). I have baked 3 loaves, starting with the recommended Basic White Bread - Program 4. While the recipe for this loaf is not in the accompanying color recipe book, it is in the smaller booklet on page 6. The loaves have been very good with a strong crust and soft crumb. The paddle got stuck in to the first loaf. I then smeared the item that the paddle fits on with a little sunflower oil and had no problem with loaves 2 and 3. Depending on the flour that you are using, you may have to add 2 or 3 ml of extra water if you find the mix to be too dry. The Breadmaker is quite quiet when mixing the dough with very little vibration and the controls are easy to use. The bread has a nice taste and overall the Breadmaker is very good value. I am also pleased with Program 11 entitled ‘Leavened Dough’ I used the white bread recipe and the wholemeal one to make 2 batches of 8 soft rolls. The program lasts 69 minutes. Just fill the bread pan with the ingredients as if you were going to make a loaf. The bread maker mixes the dough for the first 9 minutes, then kneads the dough for the next 20 minutes then takes the dough to the first proofing stage for the remaining 40 minutes. Once finished, take out of the bread pan, flatten it to get the air out, shape it into 8 or 10 round roll shapes, cover with a towel and give it its second proofing for 60 minutes before baking in the main oven at 180°C for 17 or 18 minutes.

The joy of home made bread
In my opinion this is a fantastic bread maker. The instructions are easy to follow and the machine is very easy to use.I have made notes of the practical advises and had a perfect gluten free sundried tomato loaf at first time :-)! The seedy loaf turned out to be just as yummy - used the wholemeal recipe, but swapped to seedy flour.I also like the look, the quietness and the compact size of the machine. I do agree with the comments about the not very useful design of the hook accessory. Tefal, please go back to the drawing board with that peace of equipment! Apart from this I am very happy with my purchase and sticking with the 5 star rating. Well worth the £85.00.P.S: I wish I could attach the wonderful smell of the freshly baked bread to the photos!

Reliable breadmaker. Recipe booklet not so helpful..
Bread turning out great. Using multigrain bread mostly. Prog 4 overnight. Love the compact size of machine so can be put away after use. Easy to clean pan by hand. Machine cools quickly. Recipe booklet not so helpful. The gluten free recipes look tasty but no equivalent for flour with gluten. Saying that I have consulted Internet for a sweet bread recipe and all good so far. Just would have liked a more comprehensive recipe book for actual bread! However, loving waking up to the smell of bread - you can't beat it! And no nasty ingredients in it like supermarket bread. Definitely worth buying if you want basic bread as in booklet or willing to experiment.

Fantastic replacement for my Panasonic
I’m very pleased with this machine. I’d been using a Panasonic SD2500 previously and didn’t think it could be beaten. This Tefal is very similar to the Panasonic in the types of programs and perhaps with some extra ones: it does, as well as bread including gluten free sourdough rye, it also can do pasta, cereals, porridge, yoghurt, cottage cheese – not all of which the Panasonic could do.I’ve only used it for bread so far but have done so every day for nearly three months now. Mostly using the “standard bake” but adjusting it to my own recipes adding various seeds and rolled oats and milling my own flaxseed to add (in small proportions).I’ve found the quality to be as good if not better than the Panasonic. Also in general, the bread programs are all quicker by about twenty-five per cent (Panasonic Basic Bread – Four hours and the Tefal Basic Bread Three hours) and with no loss of quality. That was something that I did not expect as I thought one needed to give time a good deal of consideration when you want quality – but this Tefal has proved me wrong. If I was to suggest a negative aspect, it would be that the bread “Pan” is not as solid as the one I had with my Panasonic (which was about fifteen years old and the quality of that pan might have changed in the meantime anyway). Will I get another fifteen years from it, well maybe not but it will soon have paid for itself in what I save over buying ready-made bread. Besides this Tefal cost me less than what it was going to cost be to buy a new Pan fro the Panasonic. So as far as I’m concerned it is a win win.Basically I’d highly recommend this Tefal machine.

Great breadmaker
This was bought as an early Christmas present from my sons. It's a perfect size and easy to store when not being used. Following the sandwich bread receipe, the bread was perfect, golden brown and tasted delicious. I'm looking forward to trying out many more of the receipes included in the book. Overall, great value for money, very compact and easy to use, its also quiet, and works away in the background unnoticed. It's versatility and 20 programmes available is spot on. I'm delighted with this gift.

Don't waste your money as this is totally unsatisfactory .
I have tried various types of bread and have followed the instructions to the letter and have found it impossible to obtain an edible loaf .Either they do not rise enough or they come out with an uneven top . This is no comparison to my previous Panasonic which gave up after about 10 years of use . I have therefore purchased a new Panasonic from you today .

Pizza recipe
Worth noting, made a pizza dough - disaster. The recipe contained in the booklet states add 320g of Strong White Flour - then a further 260g. It is not clear if its an either / or. Best check online for another receipt Otherwise, the bread-maker is excellent.
