Fit my 5 HP B&S on Ariens LM21 self-propelled mower with minor mods
Excellent operation on my 5 HP B&S powered Ariens LM21 self propelled mower. Had to do two mods, one to choke actuator and one to idle stop. For choke mod I removed choke plate from the old carb and removed the actuator and spring. Removed plate and actuator from new carb. Reamed out actuator body hole on new carb so slightly larger diameter actuator from old carb would fit without binding. I don't remember the drill bit I used but it was a common SAE size and took no effort at all to ream it with finger effort. I chucked up the bit in a removable 3-jaw chuck from my portable drill. Test fit old choke actuator until it fit to correct depth, slid new card choke plate into the slot on the properly fitted choke actuator rod. For idle stop mod the hole is already in the new carb casting, I needed to remove the idle stop screw and spring from the old carb, check the threads, then tap threads into the hole in the new body.Originally I was going to rebuild the old card from the new carb jets and such, but these mods were a lot simpler in my opinion.Fueled it up and it started on second pull, runs like a champ now!

Solved my engine problem.
Original equipment, works great. My advice, and I learned this the hard way...if you suspect a fuel problem in your small engine, and you go through the trouble of removing the carb, don't get it professionally cleaned. Just spring for a new one. The cleaning is about 1/2 the cost of a new one, and cleaning doesn't always solve the problem. While your at it, replace the fuel line, fuel filter and gas cap. Fuel lines get brittle and crack over time, filters clog, and fuel caps may stop venting properly. Also, don't use gas over a month old. And run it dry at end of season, or add Sta-Bil and let it run awhile to allow it to reach the carb.Edited 11/27/2015 to add: WARNING! This does not come with an intake manifold gasket! Saved me money
I was ready to toss my Pressure cleaner away due to the leaking of gas from the carburetor. I thought about taking it in for service, but did not want to pay the high service charge. This was a low cost option that fit the bill. Fit perfectly and at the right price.

Fits Perfect, Starts on First Pull
Bought Briggs 499059 as a direct replacement on a 1BSXS 1901VF Briggs Quantum 6HP for a 20 year old pressure washer. Installed in less than 15 minutes, engine started on the first pull. Can't beat that when the alternative is a new pressure washer.

The Briggs & Stratton 6.5 hp engine now starts and runs good
This carburetor was easy to install on the 6.5 hp B&S engine. Gasket and o-ring were also needed. This engine on an Excell pressure washer started on first pull. I also needed to replace the 1/4 inch I.D. fuel line that was cracked and deteriorated.

Worked on a Craftsman Pressure Washer 1800 PSI 2.0 GPM with 4.5 HP B & S Quantum
Like others, the engine would only run in full choke so I replaced the carburetor. Supposedly it's caused by the seal at the needle valve, but I figured this was easier to do albeit a bit more pricey. Needed the gasket between air filter & carb anyway. Changing it was easy and quick...as in about 15 minutes or so. You just can't beat OEM stuff. Suffered in the past with an aftermarket carb on different project and it did not work ao I ended up spending even more money to get the OEM one.

Worked awesome to replace the original carburetor on my craftsman 4 ...
Worked awesome to replace the original carburetor on my craftsman 4 in 1 yard vacuum. Previous carb had definite ethanol damage and it would barely run with full choke on all the time; installed this, exact fit, in 10 minutes, and it literally started on the first pull and runs like new!!! Came with the installation o ring and gasket that were also perfect for my craftsman.
