Can it test water?

No not at all, I tried these with water and I get very inaccurate readings compared to my matching readings from my liquid water testing kit and my digital pH tester. I guess there's something special about these strips where they work specifically for bodily fluids.

Can you test vaginal fluid instead of urine for accuracy of the flora balance specifically?

Accepted Answer

Our pH test strips are for Urine and Saliva testing predominately.  The reason is that the pH test strips have reactors in them for the testing of Urine and Saliva to achieve accurate results for this purpose.  For testing Vaginal  pH it is best to use the 0 -14 range test strips, rather than the 4.5 - 9.0 range as a healthy vaginal pH is somewhere between 3.8 and 4.5.

Can you use this for soda or juice?

Accepted Answer

pH is pH, so you can use these strips to test any liquid.  However, two things to watch out for: First, if the thing you're testing is strongly-colored (such as a darkly-colored juice or soda), you might have a hard time reading the result.  In addition, if the pH of your liquid lies outside that shown in the color chart on the container, you won't be able definitively to state the pH of the liquid.  There are some other test strips that claim to report the "full range" of pH (given as 0-9), but I wouldn't want to be around anything that might be at those extremes...

Question 4

What happens when the top color matches a different pH number value than the bottom color? This has been happening consistently for me.

I experience the same thing; however, it seems one of the two, the green patch, is a clearer indicator for me.  When in doubt, I accept the lower reading.  Up or down one reading is close enough for me, especially when a nutrient I started taking raised the reading from 5.75 to 6.50 which could have been a 6.75.
