These brushes are very soft, and they hold a lot a liquid. I'm a hobbyist woodwoodorker, and I mix my own shellac (2# cut). I bought these brushes for applying the shellac as a finish on my projects. So far, I've only used the littlest brush. I don't know about cleaning the brushes. Because of the nature of shellac, if the brush gets hard, I can just dip it in alcohol, and it's ready to go. So, for my specific purpose, I'm finding the hake brushes enjoyable to use, and I'm happy with the results I'm getting.

Highly recommend for encaustic. I’m a repeat buyer of these brushes because I don’t like to clean them.

I like the design of this and the softness, however the little hairs come off which is not great when using fast drying acrylic paints or encaustic wax. I think watercolor paints would work with these ok.
