I read a review where a buyer complained this was only the 'yellow foam liner' with no 'air filter' inside. The person that wrote that review obviously never looked at the factory Honda filter. From the factory these are only foam air filters designed to be used with an air filter oil, and that's exactly what is listed here.Very good value, 5 stars, but don't expect it to be cosmetically identical to Honda. If you want it to look perfect, then go spend 4 times as much and get one from Honda. BTW You will need to reuse the metal screen/cage inside your old filter element. These are not designed to be used without the structure of that screen/cage and the support on the end.On a side note..... I purchased one for a Honda Recon and used it on my 1984 ATC 200S because the Recon one is cheaper. Its not the same diameter, and I had to cut off the small flange around the small hole on the back end, and stretch it a little to install it to the carb side, but it fit over the screen/cage and it fits in the air box and works.

Ordered this filter for a 1986 250cc Honda Fourtrax. The opening in the end would not fit the attachment point in the airbox. Maybe the company wanted you to remove the air box completely and mount the filter directly to the airbox end of the of the carburetor...because the filter opening DID fit the airbox end of the carburetor. Trouble is, the filter box has a manifold between the carb and the filter...and that is where the filter is supposed to mount. Tried to stretch the rubber to make it fit the air box, and it tore. Finally had to destroy the mounting surface of my old air filter and JB Weld (the ONLY glue that would stick to the rubber on the new filter) it to the front of the NEW air filter. Wow. Would not use again if it only cost 25 cents. Too much trouble. Thing is, the rest of the filter was made correctly...good foam, different density foam inside than outsie, and a small hole in the opposite end of the filter for mounting to the filter support inside the rear of the airbox. But the main part...where it attaches to the carburetor end of the airbox...not even close. And by the time you try it, and find out that it doesn't fit, it is not in a "returnable" condition. Don't waste your money.

Cheesy foam will probably crumble but fit well and came w/ clamp. for now its good, time will tell.

Great price. It’s not oem, but I can’t imagine it is much different. Just use good oil to oil up and I’m sure it will work great for at least a year. It fit my 2007 Honda Recon ES 250 great and came with the right clamp.
