High quality ice- slow production time. Worth it for the price.
This was one of the easiest diy projects I’ve ever done. Loosen two screws on top, remove the one screw on bottom, unclip/unplug the power cable and the old one is out. For my freezer I had to reuse the old cable, reuse the old bucket arm, and remove the punch out for the water line and then reverse the above process. At first I didn’t think it was working as I didn’t see or hear it cycle and didn’t get any ice. I checked test points and followed the troubleshooting steps which indicated it was bad. I removed, checked it out, and discovered water in the tray so I reinstalled it and left to go do stuff. When I came back several hours later I had a single tray’s worth of ice. The cubes were beautiful, perfect sized, and well formed.Only complaint is that this ice maker is slow- so was the old one, but this one is even slower!

Amazed at how easy it was to replace the unit in my old Maytag!
My second refrigerator is an older Maytag, about 15 years old. It houses all of our drinks, and has the ice maker that we use most often every day. When the ice maker quit working, I expected that I was completely out of luck in getting a replacement. However, once I got the Maytag part number (#D7824706Q ), a quick search on Amazon led me to this item. Thanks to the notes in the review and the sellers comments, I already knew that I would have to reuse the existing wiring harness to make it work. Installation was comprised of a few simple steps: 1) remove one screw and loosen 2 others to remove the old ice maker, 2) unplug the wiring harness from the back wall of the freezer, 3) remove the old icemaker and unplug the wiring harness from the old maker. Then, reverse the process with this replacement. I did have to remove a small plastic knock-out from the back of the new ice maker where the water inlet tube sits. Time to complete the entire process? About 15 minutes.Within an hour the new ice maker was going strong. I truly can't believe how easy the process was, nor how inexpensive (comparatively) this replacement part was to some of the other branded replacements. I definitely recommend this product.

Very good and almost 100% perfect
It probably deserves a full 5 stars but took away one only because I whish it had a harness that allowed a little movement to install forward or backward. The way it fits my fridge is so far back that ice fall off the ice catching canister if the brackets it comes with would only allow half an inch forward tther would be no ice falling out. Not a big deal but not perfect.Other than that, it works well, it was relatively easy to install and the wiring was perfect.

Review of Supco RIM277 For a Frigidiare
Update- July, 22 2019, unit is broken, or at least that is what I have surmised from how I have tried to test it, via Youtube- instructions... Anyway, one of the Y-tube videos stated that it is simply easier, and less expensive, to replace the entire unit, these days, versus trying to repair it piece mill. Additionally, it stated that these new units only last 4~5 years...That's just what I'm going to do... Buy a new one, at $37 bucks, it's not worth fooling around with, trying to replace small component parts.Worked very well on my Frigidiare FRS26ZRG -Black. However, as others have stated, you end up with 12~15 inches of extra wire, which can easily be tucked up along the wall of the freezer and icemaker. Additionally, (as others stated) you do need to adjust the water fill screw (ever so slightly) to allow more water to fill into the unit, otherwise you end up with hollow cubes- which are sort of cool as a novelty item if your were throwing a party... Well, at least I think it would be...Another thing, I think you can avoid the extra wire, if you connect the unit to the back wall of the freezer; I didn't want to dismantle it that far back and simply disconnected the ice-maker right at the control head. If you do it like that, you end up needing the extra wire harness to ensure that the unit mates properly with the existing freezer harness.Price is great and unit works very well, would highly recommend it to a friend. Go for it!

Not as good as OE
Delivered with the arm/linkage out of place so there was no way to shut it off. After a email to Supco who pointed me in the right direction I was able to fix that. The arm is different a design than the original Frigidaire so it still makes more ice than it should before it pauses icemaking. Almost to the point of overfilling the tray. If you open the ice door to grab one cube you will get a handful that falls out onto the floor. It is way better than my faulty old one that was constantly clicking and started filling the ice box with water. Plus it makes a different style cube that I like better. All in all it is OK but I wish I would have sprung the extra 10 or 20 bucks and got a OE Frigidaire replacement.

Cool product
manufacturer supco was kind enough to promptly point me to this model for our freezer. Worked perfectly right out of the box. We had a small problem about a week in, and asked supco for guidance on how to repair - to our great surprise, there was a brand new unit at our doorstep the next morning (less than 24 hours after we emailed). No charge. Buy with confidence. Supco backs up their products. I think we have had this for about 6 months now and we are lovin it. Years without our auto icemaker, and I'm an ice monster. So there you have it. PS I did manage to repair the first unit. It wasn't a big deal, just that the on/off rocker arm had come dislodged and I wasn't sure whether there was a specific position that it needed to be in to be re-installed without goofing up the timing gears. They didn't want the new one back. PPS the answer is, no, stick the arm back in. done.

Making ice!
Was pretty easy to install. Having done it before probably helped. Being a bottom freezer, it's just hard to get the right angle to see what you are doing. Only issue was that harness was about 1" short. I was easily able to use the old harness so all good. Making ice again!

Works, needed the wires but...lots of wires
Got this to replace a broken ice maker in our 20 year old Frigidaire. It fit and it works. As mentioned by others, it came with a lot of wire/harnesses. The downside is a lot of wire to tuck up under the thing and tape up. The upside is that the wires allowed us to hook this ice maker up to our current fridge's cord...serve as adapters. Without them, it would not have worked.

Don't Be Fooled By The Price, It's Best Ice Maker EVER!
I have a Frigidaire side by side fridge which is now 4 years old, over the 4 years I have had 4 new ice makers installed and all 4 made clicking and banging noises until they all finally broke and had to be replaced!Over the 4 years the fridge had to also be replaced and I've received a new one under warranty but that ice maker has now broke with the rest of them.OK now I have installed this Supco ice maker in 5 mins and it has now been also 3 weeks and i haven't hear a sound out of this ice maker, it is fantastic and keeps my ice tray full and the only ting you hear is the cubes dropping in the tray and the water refilling! I called my repair guy and he quoted me $200 just for the ice maker plus his time.Anyone can replace one of these with little to no skill its to screws and unplug it from the fridge DONE!Thanks for having a superior product at affordable price!
