At first I was so happy to have bought this for my wife, I thought it would make her feel safer at home while I'm away from work... However, when she held it in her hand you could see a gleam in her eye, one that I know all too well. She was instantly driven mad with the power this thing offered she chased me around the house for over 5min screaming "THE POWER IS MINE B****!" finally she relented when i agreed to apply some conductive jell and allow her to shock my calf in order to show her its effectiveness and I'd say unless the creature on the other side of this has unusually tough skin, or has been exposed to electricity as often as I have then this will most likely detour anyone from a head-on assault.

Besides frying my multimeter (my own fault!) I’m happy with this purchase so far. This was a long time “wish list” item my wife’s had her eye on for “peace of mind” while out in her she shed. Thankfully she’s never had to use this but if a coyote ever jumps our fence they’ll be in for quite a shock! :-) seems sturdy and well built, this should last for years. Battery seems to hold a good charge for a few months between uses. I charge it up every few months for good measure. I just need to remember not to tick off the wife now! :-)

This prod has a very impressive spark. My wife used it on me already, she is trying to house break me. It’s on her side of the bed, I’ve been warned no more Dutch ovens under the covers.

I only tested it once on metal, it was a nice spark. I use it to walk my 2 Pit Bulls. We were attacked 3 times by dogs that got loose from a fence and a not closed properly front door. I just carry it on my walk knowing that I've got the reach to jolt a dog from a distance.Pros: sparks good. Reach 25 inches. Sturdy overall.Cons: led light is not very bright.Overall: a good stick. On my wish list, I wish it had a shoulder strap, I'll have to make my own.

This prod packs a wonderful punch. It sets the record straight the first time you use it. A few days after receiving it, my dogs decided that "today's the perfect day" to start a fight.WELL, let me tell you, this put an end to it just as quickly as it started. We have used it once. We were loading young steers. Just the sound of it helped urge them to move along.
