We had a Chinese voltage washing machine that we needed to power in the US. I purchased the 5000w converter knowing it was way over what was technically needed, but having dealt with a lot of power issues over the years it was better to have way more capacity than not enough. Keep in mind that a lot of devices seem to draw a "surge" of power when they start that's more than what's needed to keep them running.In any case this converter, while heavy, was easy to set-up and has been working like a champ. It's quiet, well built, and we haven't encountered any problems with powering the appliance. Highly recommended.

I have been using this transformer just for about a month now. I only use this either for the coffee machine or hair dryer. It has never been heavy loaded but the power went off in the middle of using my hair dryer this morning. I tried unplug everything, waited for some time hoping that power would come back, even resetting the fuse on the back. Still no power!! Although it is quite expensive, I bought the 5000v to avoid any future problems. Yet the power went off.....

I am in the philippines and it works all my power tools i brought from the states without any problems. Very good buy. Very happy i got it period even more happy about my tools with me.

There are 4 ports in the front and two are 110 and two 240 volts. There is also an input switch so you can connect it to either voltage mains.I like the UK type output ports because now I connect my DC power supply to a 110v port and my soldering iron and soldering blower to the two 240v output and UK connectors don't disconnect accidentally.It's got a nice and tough metal casing. It's easy to carry around with the light weight and the carry handle.There is no hum emmited from it. Silence.It happily powers all three connected items simultaneously and it is one of the most useful thing I got from Amazon.
