Solid ice producer, even better customer service
We've had this ice maker for one year - just over, technically (purchased 08/17). Since we first plugged it in, it's been a workhorse and we've had it plugged in and on almost every day. Works exactly as advertised: 3 ice sizes, enough ice for a drink in one cycle (~7 min) and for a big-boy smoothie in two cycles (less than 15 min). You can hear it drop ice into the bucket, but it's not too disruptive where it sits on our downstairs bar just under the kitchen; we leave it on continuously, although we do turn it off when guests are sleeping in the next room (separated by glass doors). Ice isn't overly wet and drippy - it's restaurant quality or better, firm, perfectly formed, and not frozen into a big block. We do need to 'dry' or drain the ice on a paper towel before dumping it into a ziploc bag if we want to transfer to the freezer or it'll clump up, but it's not a big nuisance and we typically just leave it in the machine to melt/refreeze for fresh cubes. For it's performance it's a solid four stars - could be quieter, could make more per cycle, could store better, but overall great. ThinkGizmos customer service pushes this to a firm five stars, though: Yesterday our ice maker went out - no explanation, no warning, just woke up and no ice for smoothies; played with it most of the day and got nowhere so I emailed customer service through amazon. By this morning they had emailed me back offering to send a replacement and apologizing for the inconvenience. We're a little out of the warranty window so I emailed figuring maybe they could advise on repair and am truly impressed by their level of service and responsiveness. Items break down, especially after warranty windows, and especially with ultra-heavy daily use. I get that. And apparently so does ThinkGizmos. A- for the ice maker (great, but broken after 1 year of heavy use), and A++ for ThinkGizmos as a seller.

TURNED OUT BAD
UPATE: So I hate changing my reviews from good to bad. But after less then one year of owning this ice machine it is dead. Will make no ice at all. The fan and condenser run and run and nothing. Sad this did start off as a good product as you see from my review when I received it but NOW it sits in Garage broken. SAD many products fail so quickly anymore!!!Disappointed to say the leaseSo I have been looking for a table top ice maker for awhile. And well reviews were good for this with some hiccups. But after a couple weeks I will have to say this is a 5 star product so far. It came in a double box to protect it. So the package was in perfect condition. The machine its self looks very nice. You do have to add water into the bottom well and no, there is no freezer that keeps ice cold. There is also a drain line, but I think besides to empty and clean you really do not need to mess with it.The machine started right up, It is very quiet and we have it set on medium size cubs and does make them in.... say 7 to 10 minutes per cycle. Maybe the small ice cubes come out quicker but we like middle size. If you leave the ice, yes it will melt, yes it will stick together, but take the scoop they give you and they break right apart to scoop out.To add there was no plastic taste what so ever for us. inside was wrapped and clean, we did wipe it out with soapy water and turned it on. So far great machine, good ice, quiet and looks good.

Perfect Ice Maker - I'm using it 24/7
After doing research for a ice maker for over a week, the ThinkGizmos had the most positive reviews so I ordered it and it's working perfectly. My husband is a union carpenter and he takes 2-3 10 pounds bags of ice to work every day in the summer. So we never had ice in the frigid which is why I needed a portable ice maker. Now I get 2 1/2 10lb bags of ice a day which is perfect. It quiet & fills the tray with larger ice in 1 1/2 hours. We keep it in the laundry room out of the way since it a little to big to go under our kitchen cabinets when it's being used (with the lid open its 24 inches tall). So far I've been running it for 5 days straight all day all night. I also have not had a problem with my ice freezing together. To stop that from happening before I dump the ice into the ice bags I pour out all the excess water in the tray and put it in the freezer. Perfect ice cubes! If is does freeze together I drop the ice bags on the floor once and it brakes apart easily. I also brought the 10lb ice bags to store the ice in. All I can say is Perfect!

Love the 1st unit...until it stopped working.
Update from below: Got the second unit to work. It’s not used often, seeing as how it’s for my family’s cabin. I may take that one over because the one I bought March of ‘17 decided not to work anymore.I first bought this unit back in March or so for home use. The home unit works well! Makes 9 cubes per run; each run takes less than 10 minutes. I loved it so much, I bought one for my 92 yr old gram (I'm so tired of dealing with her old, cracked ice trays). After waiting the suggested 24 hours to plug it in (it arrived on it's side...and with a poorly taped and assembled box---looked like the bottom was going to give), it's making small ice on the "large" setting. And a couple of the batches made less than the 9 cubes. I've let it run it's cycle about 5 times. I'll give it a day and see if it improves. If not, I'll be contacting the company.

Works like a charm
Works as advertised. Ice is a little wet after an hour or so, so I take it out of the ice maker, put in a baggie, then put in freezer. After awhile I break up the ice while still in the baggie then put the ice in the ice tray in the freezer. I always have a few baggies stored in the freezer. Works like a charm. My refrigerator's ice maker broke, $200 later, breaks again.Hope this gizmo lasts.Updated - does not make ice anymore. Just noise like it is trying but no ice. Actually stopped working, then after a week or so, I tried it again and it worked. But then stopped again and this time for good. Will try to return, it is still under warranty.Update again - was promptly sent a replacement after I contacted ThinkAwesome. Great customer service. It's been a few weeks since receiving replacement and machine is working great.
