OspreyWomen's Tempest 6 Hiking Pack (pack of 1)

Great trail hiking bag for long hikes. I don't like straps around my shoulders on longer hikes, and the Hiking pack gives me that option. I have various Osprey bags and this one gives me enough room for two 500ml. bottles extra socks, a small rain coat, plenty of snacks and a few first aid bits. Overall a brilliant bag.

I love the fact that Osprey products produce a women's range of rucksacks so that they fit perfectly and this doesn't disappoint. This is great for a reasonable length hike where you want to take a spare jacket, a couple of bottles of water,a light lunch, phone, keys and purse. It has plenty of space for all of that and is so much more comfortable than a conventional rucksack of the same capacity. The only downside is that it is pretty expensive, but I definitely think it's worth the expense.

This is ideal for me to carry essentials in when out hiking, as I recover from a shoulder injury. As less predictable weather approaches, I have yet to work out how to carry adequate warm and waterproof layers, but maybe it's just a matter of prioritising!

Osprey make great day sacks/ bags, but I’m disappointed with this one. I don’t have a large waist (size 10/12 UK) and am finding the side pockets tricky and difficult to access because they are too far back. First outing today and I found I was constantly having to unclip and take it off to access anything. Expensive mistake to make.

So, what I ordered is the purple pack with the grey trim, but what I received was the maroon pack with orange trim - very obviously different styles and colours. I’m a professional dog walker and I really needed this item for walking dogs on hot days as my dog-trainers jacket is too thick and heavy, so I chose to use the non-ordered item anyway.Colour and style difference aside, it is still a great piece of kit; you just can’t go wrong with Osprey. The lumbar support is perfectly designed, and the rest of the product design has been well thought out and manufactured to a high and durable standard. If, like me, the price is a little off-putting, it turns out to be worth every penny. As a dog walker I’ve had packs ranging from cheap ones bought at a large well know pet store to game-keepers/hunters packs (that cost a similar price to this Osprey pack) and none of them comes close to this one. Buy it; you won’t regret it!I’ve only give four stars due to being sent a very different pack from what I ordered, but this doesn’t reflect on the quality of the product.

I love this pack. I’ve used Osprey daypacks and overnight packs for years, then needed this when I had a shoulder injury and couldn’t carry a backpack. I’ve used it on 10 hikes now, up to a 10 mile 4000 footer in the Whites. I’ve carried 2 liters of water, a rain shell, headlamp, lunch, vest, socks, hat and shirt and other small items. It’s more comfortable when it’s not so loaded down, but it still works. The water bottle holders are a great size for bike bottles or a 32 oz Hydroflask. I carry bulkier items on the outside, held in with the pack’s straps but secured with a small carabiner attached to the pack handle for extra security. The bungies for the water bottles sometimes make it difficult to restash the bottles, but they also allow you to carry other things in those spots if you’re not carrying two bottles.The side pockets hold a lot, including an iPhone 14 and many snack bars.The only thing I wish it had is a small inside pocket for securing credit cards, ID, etc.

I like the way it fits with wide waist band, and much more storage than my last fanny pack
