The temperature needs to be set on a medium / medium hot, and the time is suggested to be 5-7 seconds with pressure applied. Ideally apply the Tape to a small piece of waste fabric first to test adhesion strength. After test application and allowing time for cooling pull the tape back, and you should feel a resistance and normally the tape should remove some of the waterproof coating. A light weight release paper (greaseproof - non-stick side down) can be used between the heated surface and the tape to avoid damage to the tape / fabric and to prevent it sticking to the iron or press.

perfectly sealed and waterproofed seams
I use this to seal seams on the mini wet-bags in my shop. It works perfectly fine is just a tad bit wide for the quarter inch seams. Give a professional looking finished waterproof seam and that is exactly what I was looking for. The only con is you really have to test the iron temperature because even a home iron can get too hot or not hot enough. Keep in mind to use a sheet of vellum or other type of paper to keep this from sticking to your iron or ironing board.

I am very happy with this tape.
Bought this tape to finish seams on a diaper wet bag. I set my iron at polyester , used parchment paper to cover the iron plate. With trimming the seam to a scant 1/4 inch I was able to seal both sides at once. I protected my PUL with cloth because it would have melted. I played with scraps first to check technique and tune the temp. The side of the tape that is shiney is the glue side. I'm not a seamstress, but this tape was easy to use. I recommend it. There is plenty of tape to do several projects. Loved the smiley pin that was enclosed.

Hot melt seam repair
I like this product. However I did struggle to have it stick to where I wanted it to some of the time. I am not sure if it was the material or what was allowing it to hold in some spots and not others.

Works well.
Worked great. The tape on the seams of my raincoat was coming off in some areas. I was able to replace the missing areas and help hold down some loose areas. Used low to medium heat on the iron. I found it helpful to press on the tape right after ironing while it was still hot to make sure it stuck well.
