Great light!!
Have an older boat and was switching from incandescent to LED. Noticed immediately that new light didn’t function when plugged in. Checked voltage at socket and had power. Pulled socket and noticed factory wiring had two black wires connected. Switched wires and voilà, new light came on bright and steady. LED lights are polarity sensitive, older incandescent ones are not. It was a five minute fix that the factory had switched polarity on because they didn’t care about it being correct as their OEM light worked wired either way. Before blaming this light for being faulty, consider your boat manufacturers might have wired it incorrectly on your boat because older lights didn’t care about polarity…

Works as designed and it’s adjustable.
I like the way it’s adjustable since the pole is at an angle.

Reverse polarity
I bought one it didn't worked so I exchanged it . Found out with new one it is reverse polarity. So the first one probably worked. After switching wires worked fine. If it doesn't work for you take the screw out . Turn stem around plug in. If it works then switch power connector where it goes into. Let's are polarity sensitive

Bright LED light for stern of boat
Fit the Attwood 2-pin base, this was a positive!I had to remove the screw from the pole, remove the plastic adapter, andthen re-install the screw in the upper hole (per the directions). There's one thing that I discovered during my install, LED lights havea positive side and a negative side.If the light is hooked up with the poles reversed, it will not light up!

Good but use the threaded thigh tense from your base.
I used the thread in part from the base I used instead. Took off the one that came with the light. Works great.

Wired backwards
So I picked this up last November and put it in the boat. Finally try to use it and it doesn't work, so I verified with 12vdc it will light up with some jumper wires and a spare battery. The connector was wired backward from the factory so I had to drill out the crimp and switch the wires. Not extremely difficult but there isn't much meat there so one day the screw will probably pull out and ill have to glue it. So it gets 2 stars. And yes I did verify my socket was wired correctly. Now we have light at night.
