Bright light for macro photography
This is a very bright light that can be used for macro photography. There is a possibility to adjust the brightness, which is very useful, should you need to use it as an ambient fill in light. The included adapters work well. They fit snug, but here is what you should do. Simply mount the desired ring in the light BEFORE installing it on the lens. This way you just screw the entire thing on the lens withought any chance to damage the lens. If you need to use another ring, take it off and pull up slightly on the installed ring so you can remove it. Once the ring is properly installed, it will be very difficult to remove the light, if left on the camera. I hope this helps.

High Power, Light Build
It is a tad weighty to have on the end of your lens unsupported, but i got this to use more like one would use an Orbis by having it be a hand-held, easy-to-carry light option for when you dont need a flash but want more lightMy use case is putting it on a small tabletop tripod and holding it, so i can either put the camera lens through the ring, or hold it off to the side, etc.Easy to have in the bag, and pop out in times where you need more light!

Power and Mounting Are Flexible
The first image shows this light connected to an emergency car ignition battery. The second shows it lit by an off-the-shelf 12 v. AC/DC converter. I've tried other transformers outputting as few as 5 v. The third image shows the 1/4" screw thread at the bottom with the shoe mount.

Great for Macro and Low Light Portrait
The light is very bright and adjustable. I tested it for macro, mounted to the lens, and it worked beautifully. I also took it with me to get some portraits shots with sunset type light, with the subject sitting next to a small waterfall. It did a nice job of illuminating my subject, allowing me to expose for the sunset. This will work in low light conditions with your subject within 10-12 feet, but would not be bright enough to do much in full sunlight conditions. I have not used it enough to be able to rate the battery life.

Bright but heavy.
This ring light is plenty bright! But it's super heavy because of all the batteries and both of the lens' autofocus motors had to work a little harder (I usually shoot with manual focus anyway but I know a lot of people don't). It has a spot to mount it on a stand and that will be the route I go if using this in a studio.

Solid and Easy to Use
I actually bought this macro light at full price. It has served me well. I use 6 rechargeable AA batteries to power it up. They should last for a while considering that the led lights don't consume too much power from the batteries. It's a simple product to use. Select the correct lens adapter to mount onto the front of your lens. Mount the adapter to the macro ring light. Then screw on the light/adapter onto your lens by spinning it into the front of lens just like you would with a UV filter. There's one switch to turn on/off the device. And, two small buttons that control the brightness of the led lights. Hold and press the left button to dim (lower) the brightness leds. Or hold and press the right button to brighten the led lighting. If none of the lens adapters fit onto a specific lens.... The entire macro light can be mounted onto the hot shoe of the camera, using the hot shoe mount adapter that comes with the led ring light. So far I have had no issues with this device. It is of good quality. Packaging was good as well.

INSANELY BRIGHT!
Perfect for what I wanted! Biggest surprise was how insanely bright this light is on full power. I wish it had the ability to dim even a little bit lower than the lowest setting but other than that this light is excellent. I use it with an articulated arm attached to the tripod mount with a GoPro on the other end centered in the ring. Awesome for video!

Very nice and bright light for the price
This light works well for amateur shooting. I haven't tried it mounted to the shoe, but as a ring light it's worked great for anything close-up. The only minor thing I noticed is that when I have my 18-55mm lens zoomed all the way out, I can see the light a little bit around the edges. If you are close to the subject and still need to shoot at that wide an angle though, you could just mount the light up top.It is super bright when it's turned all the way up. Bright enough to make me sneeze if I try to look at it.The last picture is with the 18-55mm lens all the way in. You can see the ring of white around the edges.

Very useful for closeup photography
This "giant flower" LED light is just the thing for photographing items for eBay etc - it is supposed to fix to the filter thread on your lens but my advice is don't unless you want to break the (usually plastic) front unit of most modern camera lenses. It's heavy! Fix it to a tripod or on the hot shoe, or even better hand hold it - it's so bright the camera will set a high shutter speed! Most useful gadget though.

Nice item, value for money.
Item is well built, have been using it on my tripod with no issues. The brightness I think could be a bit brighter, with some type of brightness control on the item.Overall I am happy with the item, and feel it is value for money.

Very dodgy product!
As some have said the battery compartment is too small for many of the batteries. So much so that one, under so much pressure, leaked! Batteries are very difficult to fit and remove. Otherwise the light from this is very slight and barely noticeable. Very poor quality and next to useless product.

Perfect continuous light setup
Their s proved to be the perfect solution for my studio macro photography for those occasions when very close so standard lighting is problematic because of shapes caused by the lens and camera body etc.Rather than cut the adaptor to the lens then light to the adaptor, I find it easier to fit the adaptor to the light then screw the whole assembly to the lens
