Totally and completely fine, just be patient. And be ready to run to a hardware store.
As anyone who is in the market for this type of thing can tell you, this is a pretty good price for a functional hardware set. I have a 42" door and it all works perfectly well... with some patience and a mod or two. It is not as pretty as many other sets out there are, but it is also considerably cheaper. I did run into a few issues I thought I would share...1. The directions are laughable. I'm fairly handy having been in construction for years and worked doing installs for designers before that and this was beyond vague into downright mystical. I still have a couple parts I have no clue what their function is but my door looks like their picture so ... victory?2. Floor mount door stay only is in the kit, you will have to find a different solution if you don't want to drill your floor.3. The track mounts 1 1/4" off the wall, so if you have a 1 3/4" door like I do... your trim better come in under 1/2" or you will have issues... like I did. I actually have a cased opening with 1" thick trim header over 3/4" jamb and base trim. It took some work and some new parts but I got it figured out. Basically this is meant to go over smooth walls perfectly and I am sure 9/10 times its a quick and painless install.4. Having the holes predrilled in the track makes for fun when you have irregular framing. I had 5 out of 6 hit studs perfectly, the last one was about 2 inches off. As many framers will tell you if there are multiple doors or openings, they will stretch up to 18" here or there. So that was a fun thing to overcome. Luckily the back of the wall is in a laundry room closet and I could cut a hole and put in some backing and all is well. I could have just picked up a new section of flat iron and worked with a whole piece but the idea of drilling holes in 1/4" steel in a 110 heat was not appealing. If I had it to do over again I would probably get a higher priced set where I could mount brackets where I needed them and get one smooth long track instead of 2 small sections clamped together... maybe from a company that has had to read their own instructions even...

Great value - sturdy and smooth - Met our expectations
We picked up this rail system for our DIY barn door as it was the most cost-effective option on Amazon and we are working towards selling our home. In short, we wanted something "cheap" that looked good but we didn't necessarily expect it to perform as well as something you'd buy from one of the big box stores. To be fair to said big box stores, this is our first experience with a barn door and rail system so our frame of reference is limited... That aside, we were very impressed with this rail system overall. It went together well and was relatively easy to install. The door rides very smooth on the rail and I didn't find any manufacturing defects or blemishes while doing the assembly and install. The instructions are ok but not great and the one word of caution I would give to anyone using this system is to watch your door thickness! The nuts that hold the door mounting bolts are "capped" so if the door isn't within about a 1/2" thickness of the length of the mounting bolts, you'll have some problems getting the mounts tight to your door. We lucked out and this wasn't a problem for us. One could quite easily replace the capped nuts with a more common alternative but also keep in mind that the hardware is all painted black-ish so finding the right color may be a challenge.

Works great but be aware!
For the price it's hard to beat! I am a contractor and this kit allowed me to cut my costs. This product works well but as others have mentioned you will have to add an additional board for the track to mount to if you have any trim the doors have to clear.I made my doors 1.5 inches thick and had to grind down the bolts that mount the rollers to the door. I had 2 doors to cover a 76 inch wide opening which required 2 of these kits for it to work. FYI I had to weld 2 of the rails together since I required all 4 rail sections and it only comes with 1 splice bracket per kit.If you use this in the same fashion as I did be aware that the tapped splice bracket holes in the rail are slightly off center. Just requires some dry fit.The rollers are very smooth and can be tightened up if you need to.

Great price, great quality!
Love this hardware. You can't beat the price. I didn't have any trouble installing myself without my Hubby's help but I did google it and found a step by step blog post on how to install this hardware and I watched 2 short videos on YouTube on how to hang a barn door & install hardware. I fee like it saved me a lot of time and frustration. I ended up running down to Home Depot to get a piece of wood for the header, painted it the same color as my wall. Drilled that into the studs then the hardware into that. Because of the baseboards there was a bit of a gap when it was closed so you could see into the bathroom. With 2 little girls I wanted total privacy so I screwed wood on either side of the door and painted same color as the door. All so great, slides so smooth! Would definitely purchase again!

they look gorgeous and function fine so far
These required quite a bit of extra work for my contractors. They're very heavy, so you'll need to ensure that you have support beams in the drywall over your doorway, as they get drilled directly into the wall. The spacers and screws were too short (I have 2" barn doors and 1/2" trim) so we had to buy longer screws, stronger bolts, and cut metal piping to pull it further away from the wall. Since most screws/bolts are silvertone, the contractor had to spray paint them black to match the finish on the hardware. Also, the guide for the floor is plastic. In the end, they look gorgeous and function fine so far, but I could not have done it without a professional contractor.

Problem with directions in mounting rollers to door and spacers to keep door on tracks.
Double check your spacing on the two rail spacers with the track and rollers before drilling and mounting your rollers to the door! There’s no measurements for that in the instructions. I ended up redrilling the holes and remounting the rollers, not a good thing on an inside decorative door.

Good hardware
I installed this on an 8' tall barn door I installed. My only complaint is my door was pre-trimmed/cased out so the door hardware hit my 1x4 trim boards. I am going to either case the door out differently or buy longer spacers to get the door further from the wall to clear my trim.
