Very important. You must have a "pointed collar" dress shirt. That doesn't mean the shirt has points at the end of the collar, but that the points of the collar point DOWN to your chest rather than to your upper arms or shoulders as a "spread collar" does. Otherwise the collar bar will not reach both ends of the collar or hold if it does.That being said, I'm very happy with these collar bars. They can be a struggle to get on because of their tightness, but that also means that tightness will keep them from slipping. The ball ends look especially good and the bar holds my tie knots out, which looks very classic and dapper. This is a great product since its almost impossible to find shirts with holes for collar pins anymore. These collar bars will work on any "pointed collar" shirt. Glad I ordered these at a great price.

I'm female but I wear a lot of menswear. My dad always wore these and while I have his old ones, I thought I'd up my game and get some new ones. These are very nice. Nice with a tie, too!

So far so good. The price was really great. I have gotten several compliments and the unique design does the job well. Note that it does require a little force to fasten on the collars. I suggest putting on the side first where your weaker hand resides as this eases the task of properly fitting it to the collar if you do not have help.

I wish they were longer. They really don't fit with a size 19 shirt. It is not the products fault, but wish they were about a inch longer.

Works great! Holds well. I thought it might eventually slip off? NOT!

My concern was whether they would stay in place, but these clamps are really strong. No slippage after wearing a full day. I only wore once so I don’t know about longevity. Sharp look! And everybody knows that’s women go crazy for a sharp-dressed man.

These are similar to a paper clip and simple slip on the collar. There is no griping feature to secure it, therefore, it quickly and easily slips off.

They looked nice in the box but I had a hard time keeping them attached to my shirt on both ends. SO I don't use them.
