are they okay to work with mm measurement system?

There are both metric and SAE sockets in the tool kit. All other tools will function well with either metric or SAE (screw driver, crescent wrench, etc.)

Is the ratchet connector 3/8' or 1/4'?

I purchase this item for an extra tool kit for my car. It is the 3/8 size I think. However, if I were you I would consider getting something else. When I used the socket they broke when I tried to uptighthen a bolt. I did not apply a great deal of pressure to the ratchet. I had to go back and use my craftsman tools. Where's the socket wrench?

There is no ratchet. The sockets are used with the "screwdriver" handle like a nut driver. This can be used in combination with the crescent wrench if additional torque is required.
