they do their job and fit a standard carboy pretty well
these airlock / bung sets are pretty decent. the rubber bung fits the standard carboy pretty snugly (you might have to hold it in place for a couple minutes if you insert it wet, because it will try to climb back out). i thought these would be glass, but they are a pretty sturdy plastic. the airlock fits the hole in the bung very tightly, but will assure a good seal. my only gripe is that the plastic caps on top are a chore to get off. i've actually partially torn one of the caps trying to remove it from the airlock. it's still functional though, so no worries just yet.every batch i've brewed using these has come out just fine, so it's safe to assume they are doing their job. the price isn't the best you'll find, but with prime shipping, you'll get them quickly and you have the amazon purchase protection built in. pretty good deal, if you ask me.

Works great - cost effect way to make your own fermenter lid
I bough this to make a primary fermenter out of a 5-gallon bucket lid. It was super easy. Just had to buy the right grommet and drill a hole.Some measurements as I thought it may help others:Outside Diameter of the air lock stem is 7/16" (0.43" as measured by my caliper)I purchased a 3/8" nominal rubber grommet (0.375" inside diameter) for a nominal hole side of 1/2".I used a step drill to make a hole just slightly larger than 1/2". It may have been closer to 9/16ths. Step dril works great for this as you can size it up slowly to test your fit, and the step shoulders de-burr the hole.Installed the grommet, and pressed in the air lock. It is a tight fit and the rubber grommet is firmly, but not over-compressed. It has formed a tight air seal and the fermenter is bubbling as a I type.Air lock is a simple device that works great.

Used product and no return, refund, or replacement?
These items did not fit most of our bottles but the main reason I gave it a 3 is that one package looked like the bungs had food particles on them. Them to top it off, they are nonreturnable and I could not get a refund or replacement.
