Kali Protectives Chakra Plus Bike Helmet

Had this helmet for about a year. Had the wisdom white and now own the wisdom black. Size S/M.I used this primarily for XC practice and racing. I haven’t taken many hard falls, which I’m thankful for. For all the times that I have fallen it hasn’t had to protect my head. Replaced the older Chakra Plus due to wear and tear.Pros:Aesthetics: nice paint, looks like an enduro helmet (so enduro bro), just looks like a well made helmet.Functionality: vents extremely well, straps easy to adjust and keep in place, the head securing device (slip clutch?) is winded all the way tight for my head. Fits securely. Bug net? I don’t know. I’ve had bees or gnats go in there so it works. I hear in Australia these nets are a must. Very comfortable.Glasses: works well with bulky glasses.Value: $50 is way cheaper than reconstructive and neurosurgery. No brainer (no pun intended). I actually got mine significantly cheaper so even better.Cons:Visor: broke after first removal. No biggie.Padding: velcro layer removed after vigorous washing. My fault.Tips:Some say it runs larger than normal. For me I’m a tweener, the XS was too small for my head. Opted for SM and it fits perfectly with the slip clutch adjusted all the way clockwise.There are small attachments of Velcro under the front part of the visor. If you broke the visor, the Velcro attachments will keep the visor in place until you get a replacement.Wash the helmet and pads GENTLY with a bit of shampoo/gentle soap and a toothbrush/sponge every two weeks if you use it often.Highly recommended for its aesthetics, function and value. Best helmet I’ve owned. Despite the cons I’m giving this helmet the benefit of th doubt. 5/5 for me.

I ride my mountain bike in Northern California four days a week wearing this helmet and have to say it is excellent! Light, cool, sturdy, and looks good. Not to mention I like the sticker they provide with it:). I don't understand the complaint some people have with the visor. It is of standard quality and strength. It has hit the ground a few times in the last year and is still in great shape. The mesh screen has kept a bunch of bugs/bees off my head. I highly recommend this helmet! I have to say flat out - For the price, you are not going to get a better deal...Period.

This helmet is a good value, but I am new to mountain biking after many years of road cycling and cyclocross. The helmet "finish" and straps are not quite the high quality I have paid for before in a road helmet. But, for the price, I feel that I made a good decision to buy as this is a third the cost I expected. The helmet has a nice look, and it is light. The bug netting and padding seem very nice so far. The adjustment is very wide-ranging and gives a nice fit that is a tad large but still acceptable.

I bought this to use for both mountain biking and road biking. It's very comfortable and fits great. My only complaint is that the visor is attached very poorly. My friend has one of these and his visor broke off long ago. Mine came with the visor only half attached (one of the plastic attachments was already broken), but I was able to super-glue it back in place, and it has held fine so far. Overall a great helmet.

Love the helmet. Fits really nice and feels way more expensive than it is. The look is great too. Nice coverage and has saved my melon twice now. Even resisted a straight puncture from one of my crashes that definitely would of cracked my skull. Great helmet. Actually buying a second for my wife.

Wish I had disregarded the reviews talking about how large the helmet is! Went with a medium/small, should have gone with medium/large.Still, it fits securely, and is quite a good looking helment. From all my research it appears to be an excellent value. I will be using it for commuting.

This helmet was recommended to me and I'm glad I pulled the trigger on it. It fits great, has great airflow, and the knob on the back is great for fine tuning your fit. The only complaint I have is the padding on the inside can move around a bit and the velcro bits get stuck in your hair, but it's not a big deal.
