This stuff works great. It doesn't cling to your shoes like regular sidewalk salt does. It melts good. You don't need to worry about chlorides getting into the area water ways.

Bought this specifically to melt snow at lower temperatures. If you keep on it and ahead of the snow and ice it works well. Starting using it when we had a bad ice winter in the northeast and it did the job. I'm still buying it.

This product deteriorates in the bucket and salt clumps together and breaks down. Make sure not to store this in a moist area or get any water/snow in the bucket. Would suggest putting this in a dispenser for better and cleaner coverage of areas.

I had a large patch of ice in front of my side door. In just a few minutes, this stuff had it dissolving! Now, I can step out of my house without fear of falling! I ordered this because it came in a big bucket with next day delivery. I'm in the Cleveland Ohio area and we got hit over and over with snow and ice - I had my driveway plowed 5 times in less than 2 weeks and every store is out of salt and ice melt. The plow blade doesn't come up to the steps though so this was a life saver. I nearly fell before I put this down! This is better than salt because it won't eat up my concrete - which by the way, I saw yesterday for the first time in weeks!

This mixture of salts appears to be doing a good job melting the ice that has collected on the front walkway. But I was able to spread that ice only after struggling to get the plastic bucket open for the better part of an hour. Maybe there is some tool that a professional would know about that I just don't, a dedicated ice melt bucket opener widget. But there are no instructions, and no obvious way to get the incredibly tightly sealed plastic top off without working for almost an hour with screwdrivers and other tools. Eventually, I destroyed the top enough to get it off — and even so, with a lot of effort. Fortunately, I had an easy-open empty bucket handy from my last (Ace Hardware) package of ice melt, and I've transferred this stuff into that. But next time, I'll try another brand, good though this product is.

This product works as advertised and is very helpful at melting ice on the pavement in front of my garage. I ordered it in a bag because of problems users reported with opening buckets. Unfortunately the bag reached me with a small tear in it through which some contents had spilled into the box. Since the box was not damaged it would seem most likely that it was sent out this way. Happy with the product, perhaps seller should take a bit more care with handling
