Works as expected, but prepare yourself
As a preface: I consider myself a veteran of the "custom DIY" foam struggle. My previous attempt involved hand-cutting poster board and foam in 90-degree heat while solo-installing an 80lb, 12,000 BTU beast. Because that rushed job was subpar, my New England winter was full of unacceptable drafts and a humidifier that couldn't keep up. Since I refuse to lug that 80lb unit to a basement storage in another building every year, I needed a real solution. This kit was it. It took me about 1.5 hours. Be warned: the materials are soft, squishy foam with vinyl backing. It is not "fun" to cut, especially trimming down millimeters of soft material because you don't like how it looks on the test fit. For most people, you'll likely be restricted to scissors and/or a utility knife. - I recommend ditching the scissors.. Scissors will compress the foam before actually cutting, leading to jagged edges. Use a utility knife with multiple light passes. Let the blade do the work, or you’ll bunch the foam and end up with a mess (or a bandage). - I recommend cutting 1/8" (inch) wider/taller than your actual measurement. I tried 2/8" at first, and it looked like a crumpled accordion in the test fit. 1/8" inch provides a perfect, snug "wedge" fit. - I actually found the adhesive unnecessary; the pieces fit so snugly that they stayed in place on their own. The quality is good for what it is. The thickness is legitimately sufficient to keep the frigid New England air outside where it belongs. It costs about the same as my failed "custom" setup but looks significantly less "unsightly." Value is definitely here. Bonus: My window frame is 32.5", and AC is 24" wide. The 36" kit yielded me enough extra materials to insulate the bottom of the AC as well. Godspeed with your installations. May your cuts be straighter than mine.

Works great! Highly recommend!
My home office is on the second floor which can get pretty warm in the summer months even with central air, so I have a window ac unit. Well in the cooler months there would be a terrible draft coming from the accordion sides. This was so easy to install and looks great! There’s no more draft so my office stays nice and warm when the heat is on in my house. Highly recommend for anyone with a window unit.

nice replacement
We broke the original surround that came with our window unit when we had to break into our locked garage....climb through the window...etc. My hubs was prepared to buy a new window unit for his man cave (garage) when I suggested searching Amazon. He found this and it is adjustable to the size he needs with cutting and likely saved us a couple hundred dollars. Works well to keep air in and dreaded bugs out!

Great for drafty old apartments!
Really great! I could always feel hot air leaking in through the sides of our air conditioners. Our apartment has basically no insulation, so it’s always a struggle to keep it cold in the summer and warm in the winter. It is thick enough to keep the drafts out. Was very easy to install. It also makes the ugly air conditioner look a little better. It was easy to cut to the size needed, stuck to the window well and did not take any paint off when removed for the season. It held up well and I expect that we will be able to use it again next summer with some double sided tape easily added.

Easy to install. Looks nice and insulates well.
Fairly easy to put in. Insulates mush better than the stock "insulation" panels.

Very Good Product...Keeps the Cold Air Out
It really keeps the air out. My unit is a little taller than the panel they provide so I will have to cut an additional piece to seal that area. Also, have a sharp pair of scissors on hand to cut it because it is a very will manufactured piece of foam / vinyl and anything less will do a poor job, at least for me. Make sure to measure several times to make sure of your measurements. And yes, I would buy it again.

meh. not worth the price. felt like scrap materials
i feel like the engineering/design for they types of products is barely ever there. its really just a raw material you still have to cut to fit and work with creatively. its barely passing as a product so it can be marked up. i’d just as soon order foamcore board and and adhesive to make my own insulated border

Makes a huge difference! Highly recommend!
I live in an environment that's very muggy/humid in the summer, yet chilly in the winter... So anytime in the summer that my window unit isn't running, it feels humid in that room because of the paper thin window unit seals, and in the summer, I have to fully remove the window unit because it essentially makes my room feel like the artic tundra. This item has already made such a difference in the ONE WEEK that I've had it installed. The insulation panels are thick and secure, easy to cut, and block out all humidity from outside... So I anticipate that having this installed will also save me some money on my power bill now that A/C & heat can't seep through the window unit cracks and thin lining. I highly recommend this product! Easy to install, great look, and fair price!

I had installed an air conditioner in my window and the side plastic panels did not do the trick to seal it well. I ordered this and it took me a bit of patience but is perfect.
