Sturdy bunk bed
It uses machine bolts for assembly and they all take the same size wrench which is nice. The directions are only pictures so you have to pay close attention. I assembled the ends on the wrong sides as I couldn't tell from the pictures which was which and it wasn't apparent until the 2nd to last assembly piece. It takes 2 people to get the top piece installed on the frame unless you have a way of suspending it while you line up the bolts and get them started. Other than that it was pretty easy to assemble by myself. It is very sturdy.

Good value for price
I’m going to include some assembly tips below because there were a couple of steps that were very tricky. Definitely a brain teaser puzzle! Other reviewers were a helpful heads up. Overall a solid, modern bunk bed with good weight limits. It’s hard to find low profile bunks that aren’t for little kids. This totally fits the bill. We needed it for a cabin bunk room with lower ceilings. The ladder placement is very solid. The mattress slats/bars make a lot of noise during assembly but once mattresses were in place it was fine. This took two capable adults 2.5 hours to assemble. Now that I understand a couple of things it would probably shave off 45 min! You cannot do this alone. It’s not humanly possible. Tips for two tricky steps:1. Assembly for the mattress slats is poorly planned. Only two bars per mattress frame screw into place. The rest are a game of pick up sticks. The twin (top) is harder than the bottom (full). We ended up placing a board underneath so the cross bars could be elevated and we could put the sides into position. Screw in both stationary cross bars first on one side only. Place that side against a wall. Put the board down and then place your cross bars. You have to very carefully align the other railing or everything will fall out. For the bottom, you don’t need a board underneath. Same start but for the other railing lay it on its side and set the bars on top of the holes. Slowly in tandem rotate the rail into position. This step takes a lot of patience.2. For the big assembly step, which has one illustration, assemble on its back side. Place the side rails on the back (long flat edge on the floor, curved edge facing the ceiling). When putting the bottom mattress frame into place, be sure that the screw holes for the ladder are lined up in the right place. Screw parts into place but don’t over tighten them. Once assembled, carefully flip upright. Since it’s a low bunk bed you’ll have ceiling clearance. Once upright, realign and tighten screws. Also the plastic caps for the tube ends are loose and don’t stay in place so will be glueing them.

It’s ok for the price
This bed is ok for my boys for now. However I may have to buy them something more sturdy as they get older. I like that the bed is low and the metal is lightweight. It makes it easy to make the bed and to clean under it. The bed looks nice. My concern is the slats that support the top mattress and how they fit into the side rail. When we were assembling the bed and got to this part, I saw that the supporting slats just barely go into the side rail. It made me worry that when the boys move around on the bed the supporting slats could come loose. Only 3 of the supporting slats screw into the side rail. I would prefer that the slats were welded to the side rail or that the slats fit deeper into the side rail. The bed is probably fine and study enough the way it is, but just seeing those bars just barely go in the side and then knowing only three of those bars are secured and holding the top up made me nervous. My boys are rambunctious. Hopefully this bed can hold up.

Took a few hrs to assemble especially for 1 person
We used a screwdriver with allen wrench end whic was way easier than the tiny allen wrench except for in the hard to reach areas. Assembly for 1person made it take a couple hours. So far so good on the sturdiness my 2 and 4 yr old love it!

Great bed!
This bed is exactly what I wanted. It's low to the ground so I don't have to worry about my young kids falling. It's incredibly sturdy! Not for nothing, but it was pretty easy to assemble. It took me and my 72 year old mother in law just over an hour to put the whole thing together. Definitely a two person job, especially when attaching the top bunk. The only issue I ran into is that 2 pieces were mislabeled but I noticed pretty quickly and was able to switch them. Overall, it was a great buy!

Noisy
This bed is very noisy would recommend putting it together with gorilla glue to keep it from shifting. It is very sturdy .Very good size bed and not very bulky.
