First, I love the smell. Very fruity, a bit strong and sweet but it smells great. I mainly bought this product because it says "No drying alcohol, no mineral oil, no parabens, no petrolatum" and I wanted to try something other than cantu which I love, so I expected it to do a good job in my hair. I have high porosity 4b hair so it needs to stay moisturized to keep it from frizzing. First time I tried it on its own it didn't feel that moisturizing. When i felt the texure of the product I didn't expect much anymore because it was not thick enough to be elongating and it was not particularly. I don't thing there is any product which can visibly reduce shrinkage for my hair type. The next time i tried it in dampened hair a bit and that made it a lot better. My hair felt really really moisturized. It has a bit of an oily texture so moisture lasts well with this product which is something needed.I did a twist out with some gel and my hair was great. Felt much softer and had a nice defined curl texture and it kept my curls and reduced frizz really well. The second day I was in air conditioning and that usually makes my hair hard and dry and frizzing. My hair did frizz but it was minimal and my hair still felt so soft and it was very impressive and more or less kept the curl pattern. I love how it reduced some of the crunchiness that I usually feel with the gel. Somehow the lack of thickness from the product or the reduced stickiness it caused with the gel made me feel like my hair was not going to last, but it the frizz control is great and i like it just as much as my Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie.

This has a great mango smell and the texture is great for my hair. I use it to moisturize my hair after a wash, after which I brush it flat and braid into a large braid. Then I wear my wig. My hair is super defined. As a matter of fact, my hair has been flourishing since I started using this product. Why isn’t it sold in stores anymore?? Is Dark & Lovely planning on discontinuing this product? That would really be a shame. I love the quality of this product and the price is great too.

This product is so affordable, smells great, and has natural ingredients. What completely sells me is how soft my curls are🥰 and the great definition. Have been looking for a product like this for the longest then. Will definitely be buying again!!

This product is great at providing an amazing shine to my natural hair! It is the only product that I have found that does that. This sells out fast and I order 2 at a time to stay stocked up! I don’t find it oily or sticky. You have to learn the correct amount to use for your hair.

I haven’t used this product in a long while! But I remember the first time I did I was blown away and loved that I only had to use one product to get great results. My hair at that time was in a different stage that “awkward” stage in between the TWA and more length, but this product was absolutely perfect for getting a gorgeous shaped curly fro!! Fast forward to when I had a bit more length and it just didn’t seem to wow me. Now again I’m in another stage almost seven years natural and with more length comes the need for more moisture and keeping the hair stretched so there’s less tangling. So I decided to try this again. And I love it again!! Sinks right into the hair and immediately helps my curls clump and plump up instead of being stringy like when using gel. I love gel but sometimes just want more volume and softness with definition. This product does exactly that! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

I have been using this product since 2018. I went through sooo many products until I found this product. I knew it was perfect after my first twist out. I was so glad when I found this product because it hydrates my hair. It gives it that wet and curly look all day even when it's dry. It is the perfect product for twist outs. The price used to be between $7-$9 at your local beauty supply store, Walmart, target, or amazon. To see this product increase to $20 is sad. I probably will never use it again... It definitely works wonders though. I guess back to the stores I go to search for a new affordable product.
