Cheaper alternative to SportDOG or Dogtra collars but just as good quality and features
I debated between a 4 and 5 star as i would prefer to give it 4.5 so I rounded up. I have had the cheap collars rated highly on this site for 30$ and had a the expensive Tri-Tronics collars as well so i have had a number of different shock collars to testPro's1. Good price point as the Dogtra, SportDog, and Tri Tronics can be much more expensive2. I liked that you could EASILY set multiple collars and that you can toggle back and forth by the push of a button. Easy to set up as well.3. I think most had this but an on/off button is useful to save battery life4. Most other brands don't have this, but this product provides plastic prongs to eliminate the shock. I have a 7 year old and 6 moth old golden retrievers and the older one responds to the beep and vibrate so no need for shocking function. its nice just in case the remote is in pocket and you accidentally hit zap function.5. seems to charge and hold a charge well6. lowest setting is actually pretty low, which is good. i have had others where the lowest setting is quite intense.7. charger has two charging wires and both remote and collar take the same male ends. This allows two collars to be charged if the remote is already good to go.8. NO STAND BY mode. A cheap amazon sold collar I bought has stand by mode so when my dog is just chilling in the yard it turns off and isn't sensitive enough to turn back on again unless crazy neck movement happens which makes the collar worthless most of the time.Cons1. The beep function can not be dialed up or down. The vibrate and shock functions have settings 1-10 but beep does not. I ordered two collars and one is substantially quieter than the other.2. I wish there was a lock setting on the functions. I guess you could turn it off but the 4 second on/off function is too long if something happens quickly and I need to provide stimulation. an unlock button could be easily pressed if any of the buttons were needed. This way you don't risk giving any false shocks to your dog if it is in a pants pocket.3. I hate the belt style collars. I typically redo the collars to use a cloth/nylon strap with the plastic 3 prong clips as this is easier to consistently take on and off.4. The collars are pretty big. I have two goldens so it isn't a huge issue, but it seems like it could be bigger than the competitors, but I have no proof. After 3 weeks very happy so far as it was much cheaper for 2 dogs than the SportDOG 425 that after hours of research still couldnt figure out how it easily switched between two dogs.

Happy customer, good dog
I have a great little pup. She's a boxer, pitbull, collie mix. We got her as a replacement farm dog when our old girl passed away. She's now 9 months old and doing well with her training except for 2 things. She doesn't always come when called and she likes to visit a neighboring farm to play with their dogs. Together they become a pack, chase horses and get into all kinds of mischief. Not acceptable behavior. I need my dog at home doing her job. Not annoying my neighbor and possibly putting herself in danger. So I researched training collars and came across this one. I actually wasn't too happy about the idea of shocking my dog but decided after trying everything I could think of to keep her home and safe to try this as a last resort. This is a nice, easy to use product. It really does the job. It's small, sturdy, well made, waterproof (great in deep snow) and has a nice long range. The collar is wide enough to keep the receiver nicely in place. The long range allows me to stop my dog in her tracks clear across a large field. It even works through my kitchen window. I have to say that the first day I used the collar Roxie was a little nervous and bewildered but she's fine with it now. In just over 2 weeks I've only used shock three times. I'm now using vibrate. She comes when called and has pretty much given up on partying with her friends. The collar needs to be fairly tight so that the prongs touch the dogs skin. When I first used it it wasn't tight enough. I've now marked the correct hole in the strap with whiteout. I really believe that you have to put in the work training your dog and not just use a training collar willy nilly for every little thing. In our case it has probably already saved my dogs life ( she keeps clear of the tractor now) and has taken a lot of stress off my shoulders. The customer service with this company is excellent and the price is great too. I'm happy to give this product 5 stars because it does the job well. Heather Campbell
