I just received this item along with the 11th gen Fire. IT DOES FIT. You cannot rely on just the basic information from the manufacturer that its cord fits a Fire 10. It may or may not. ALL you have to look at is the charging port to see if it's a USB-C or a micro-USB. For example, the previous Fire 10 I have is a 7th gen 2017 release that uses the micro-USB. Again, all you have to do is look at the charging port to see which one it is. My understanding is that the Fire can handle up to a 15W charger and the 9W one supplied by Amazon is too weak for my purposes. It may be they do this out an abundance of caution so that a power surge doesn't damage the unit, but I come from a long line of village idiots so what do I know. I'm told the length of the cord may also affect how fast an item charges. My other observation after numerous Fires I have owned is the subject of reinforced/braided cords. My experience is that the braided cords because of their stiffness have a tendency to damage the charging port. And as many of you know that is usually the first to go. Yes, they may last longer but I'd sooner replace a cord than a Fire. Considerably cheaper in the long run. All I know is that this one works better than the OEM item. Edit: just as an additional item there is this issue of breakage of the cord. I have bought a fair number of cords for my Fires over the years from various companies and have NEVER had a breakage issue. It is true that I have accidentally tripped over and otherwise inadvertently pulled cords from the Fire many times which could have resulted in breakage. I have been lucky it didn't but have probably "worn out" the charging ports earlier than they should have because of my clumsiness. Considering I use and charge the Fire every day, regardless of the protestations, I am reasonably certain that most of the complaints here have resulted from that and not from defects in the cords themselves. All that is required is that you have to be careful when inserting and pulling the cord from the device as I have to keep reminding myself.

Good product that works as advertised. Too bad Amazon does not not add or offer as option when selling the new Kindle with the cordless charger.

Long cord

This probably will not be allowed to post. I promptly received the first charger. When plugged into my fire tablet the tablet would show a slow charging message and would not charge. The cord would not fit correctly into the wall plug-in. I tried the cord with a different plug-in and it charged the tablet okay. I tried the plug-in with another cord and it still gave the same error message on the tablet and would not charge the cell phone, either. I requested a replacement.The replacement arrived promptly. I do not get an error message showing slow charging on my tablet but it still takes a long time to charge i.e. With a battery at 10% it takes about 8 1/2 hours to full charge While this is suppose to be a fast charger, it takes almost twice as long as the standard charger that came with the fire tablet. At least the 10ft cord is an improvement for me because it is much longer than the standard original cord that came with the fire tablet. I am putting the new plug-in up for a spare and just using the new cord with the original standard plug-in. In 5 years I have only ever written 2 negative reviews, both for defective products, and both reviews were refused as violating rules/policy which neither did. I stated how each was defective and gave 2 stars; nothing more and nothing less. So we will see if this posts.

Perfect length! Easing when charging my Fire.

When I received this charger I was really happy. My previous charger took forever to charge my Kindle, and this one was really fast. In addition, the length of the cord allowed me to keep the charger in while I was reading both at the table and on my couch. So why 3 stars? Here it is 6 months later and it isn't working. Something's wrong with the connector to the Kindle. I just ordered two more cables and I hope that will fix it (and leave me a spare).
