I suppose it works as stated, but...
So, I think that I can safely assume that this product does indeed make the poop taste terrible. However, it really backfires because, as I sort of suspected would be the case, it also makes the food taste terrible. So, it just teaches the dog to choke down the product in order to eat their dinner, which would only accustom them to the taste and I don't see how it could be an effective deterrent overall.I think that it could work quite well if the dog is eating poop later, but in my case, I pick up all poops immediately. My dog was pooping, turning around and immediately eating it before I could get it scooped up and thrown away in the trash (or flushed down the toilet). But if your situation is different from mine, and you can sprinkle this product on poop to prevent the dog from eating it later on (in which case it seems easier to just pick up the poop anyway), then this could be an effective deterrent. But apart from putting it into capsules and feeding it to the dog that way, I don't see how feeding it to the dog orally would deter them from eating poop later with the product in it. I actually did consider getting some empty capsules and doing just that, because I do think that could work quite well. She really was obviously choking down her food with the product sprinkled on it as directed, so the taste is obviously quite awful. But teaching them to tolerate that taste seems counterproductive. And sort of mean.

Appears to have no effect (but Alpar Laboratories gave refund!)
I have a Golden who after 5 years starting eating you know what, and around the same time another Golden starting doing the same. I used sixes boxes of For-Bid with no apparent effect. Maybe it works for some dogs, but in my case it was a complete waste of money.Update: After leaving my review, Alpar Laboratories contacted me to offer me a refund on one of my orders. I accepted and they quickly processed the refund. While For-Bid did not work for me, Alpar's offer was a stand-up thing to do. I am changing my rating from 1 to 3 stars because this indicates that if it does not work, Alpar will refund your purchase. Thanks Alpar!

Stops dogs from eating excrement.
This works to persuade you dog from eating their or other dogs excrement. I have purchased this in the past for my Sister's dog to prevent her 16 yr old dog from eating excrement and it worked for her. This is our 2nd order for our LabBlueHealer 1.5yr old from eating her excrement as well. We give to all three of our dogs so Holly won't eat theirs as well.

Product works well
ForBid works well for us. Using ForBid, we got the problem quickly under control. But I decided that, for maintenance, I'd rather find a product that was in a hard form, not a powder like ForBid. The new product didn't work and we're now going back to ForBid.ForBid comes as a powder in foil packets. Since we're now in a maintenance mode, directions call for just a pinch per dog each day. It's a small chore to have a foil packet laying about for a few days while you spoon tiny amounts out of it but better than the other product which both smelled awful and didn't work.

What the what?
Has anyone else noticed that the quantities specified on the back of the pouch do not actually match up w/ what’s ACTUALLY IN the pouch? The instructions say to “give 1/2 a pouch (<which should be> 1tsp)” to a larger pup over food twice a day. Well, I’m particular when it comes to dosing, so I actually used a tsp to dose this stuff out, and guess what? There’s maybe just over 1 level tsp in each entire packet! And it’s been this way for every single pouch within the box. So, I’ve been giving this stuff for 4 days now based on the 1/2 pouch instruction (which again is ONLY 1/2 tsp) and super excited to say that my foxhound is still eagerly awaiting my other dogs 💩 like he’s waiting for soft serve ice cream. SO, Forbid people (if they actually read & respond to these reviews), are customers just being gypped that extra teaspoon of product that should be included in each pouch? OR are the dosing instructions on the pouch incorrect? Because if they’re shrinkflating, they should really update their packaging. And also maybe find Jesus, bc that’s a 100% price increase.

Love it...
I'm being using this product for long time ago when I got 3 puppies years ago and work perfect, after so many years I have 2 new puppies and that female start with the bad behavior so I order again and start using in both female and the male and stop that bad behavior right away is definitely the best and the only product that I use, and of course we have to do over part too cause we as a parent we need to be very patient and clean after them really good that way the bad behavior works even better and faster, I totally recommend it, no one can disagree with this product is the best. 10⭐️

Look at Ingredients! PLEASE be careful with this and ask your Vet 1st!!🛑
I will preface this review by saying that my dog Cupid, has had ongoing stomach issues since I got him from the Poodle rescue in September 2023. He was on a prescription diet for stomach sensitivities , and he started eating poop. I ordered For-Bid, thinking it was safer than the internet’s suggestion of “ meat tenderizer “ !Guess what this is…..MEAT TENDERIZER in the form of MSG,& wheat gluten ! Well, 2 doses in one day, ended in a hospitalization all yesterday, and cost $1755 . I don’t want my dog eating poop. It’s a revolting habit, but I will never again try anything not prescribed by a Vet, for anything. My dog lost 4 lbs in 12 hours. He went from 33-34 lbs, to 29.4 pounds. He could have died if he didn’t receive immediate medical intervention. This reaction is probably not what the average dog would experience, but if you have a dog who is prone to diarrhea, bad stomach, anything, PLEASE ask your Vet first! My Vet had never even heard of this product. I am so sad that I tried to fix this problem on my own. It cost me $1755, & could have taken my 17m.o. dog out completely.
