Better than other basic HDTV antennas. A nice package, here
This is a nice HDTV antenna package. The antenna is made of hard plastic, and has a fabric covering on the front of it. Also, there is a collapsible, directional metal antenna coming from the side of it HDTV antenna block. This does seem to help pick-up more TV stations. You have 2 options for placing the antenna. You can use the enclosed stand, which is better if you intend on moving the HDTV antenna round a bit, or tucking it away when not in use. Also, there are screw slots on the back of the antenna, for wall mounting. Wall mounting would be a good option, if you get good enough reception, to where you don;t have to worry about moving around the HDTV antenna, much. Though, when mounted to a wall, you still maintain some directionality with the collapsible metal antenna.Built into the HDTV Antenna's power and signal cables, is an amplifier. There is a USB-to-AC plug power adapter included, so the HDTV antenna amplifier can be powered through an AC power outlet, instead of plugging the USB power cable into a spare USB port on a TV. The power cable for the amplifier is a bit short, so, if you don't want to power it through the TV's USB port, and don't have enough length to power it with the USB-to-AC adapter, just get a USB 2.0 extension cable, and that will get you the length needed, so that power cable can reach where it needs to. USB 2.0 extension cables are rather cheap.Something I was surprised to see included with this HDTV antenna package, is a template for marking on a wall where to place screws/nails, if you are wall mounting the antenna!. I didn't think this was too necessary, as all one needs to do is measure the difference between the 2 mounting holes on the back, however, the template is a nice touch I didn't expect. After I set this antenna up, I let the TV scan for channels. I did this on a television I have, that had a lesser, un-amplified HDTV on it. After scanning for channels, I found this HDTV antenna was able to pick-up a few more stations, than the other antenna did in the same spot. I did not wall mount this antenna on a wall, I placed it on the HDTV stand so i can move the HDTV antenna to where I want it, and when the antenna's not in use, I can tuck the it away.I found this to be a good HDTV antenna. It did better at bringing in HDTV stations, than an un-amplified, floppy plastic, smaller, HDTV antenna I had on that TV.This is a good package, for the price. Having that extra collapsible, directional antenna built into the antenna block seems to help pull in stations, as does the amplifier. Just keep in mind, you may need a bit more cable to both plug in the power to the amplifier, and plug the signal cable to the TV, TV tuner, etc. This problem is easily solved by using a USB extension cable to extend the power cable, or a coupler and length of coaxial cable to extend the signal cable.

Pleasantly Surprised
I live in an area with one nearby television station and a few more 30 to 70 miles away, fortunately, mostly flat land with some rolling hills. I’ve not had good luck with other tv antennae, and local cable for me is more expensive than I think is reasonable. So I decided to give this powered hd antenna a try.It has a long cable of about 10 feet so I can pull it away from the tv and position it close to the window when I have a weak signal. Now I can pull in 10 clear channels and one weak channel. The weak channel become clear when I position the antenna next to the window. The antenna is powered by a USB plug and adapter which plugs in right behind the tv in the wall outlet.Prior to having this antenna, I could get maybe one good channel with my old antenna. Overall I am very pleased to be able to turn on the tv again and enjoy local programming, and I still don’t have cable tv or the bills that come with it.This is a fair and honest review for a product that I received free of charge.

Finicky Antenna, but Does Work
I have been on a bit of an antenna quest, ever since I received an email l from my local PBS station that they had increased their broadcast signal. You see, I'm an avid PBS fan, but I haven't been able to receive PBS over the air since all TV signals went digital in 2009. Since I received notice of the update from my local PBS station, I have ordered no less than 3 new antennas to attempt to receive this signal. This antenna seemed especially promising. It looked more stylish than the typical squares of plastic I had been trying, had one bunny ear antenna that promised to pick up what my previous attempts had not, included its own amplifier, and touted a slightly more hefty price tag than the one I had been using boasted.Well, this antenna has not been able to get my access to that elusive PBS station. (But, to be fair, none of the four antennas I have tried have succeeded at this task for me either.) However, this antenna was especially finicky when it came to finding the optimal signal. The first few locations (sitting up high on a cabinet behind the TV, sitting in front of the TV, mounted beside a window, etc.) actually provided me significantly less stations than my previous, flat-piece-of-plastic antenna had been giving me for the better part of a year now. I had been receiving 27 stations, but with this antenna, I could only 15 channels -- unless I mounted it exactly above my window (where the bunny arm antenna had no space to extend upwards). So this antenna works, but it was just too finicky about it's placement to be ideal for me. I've given it to my boyfriend to use. He lives in a hovel, secluded in the woods. He's able to pick up 17 channels with it, which is about 14 more than he would be able to receive without the amplified receiver.

Great Product / Saves Money
I was very surprised at the channels I received from just this digital antenna. The only thing I haven’t figured out is do I actually need a converter box to get more and better reception. The picture is awesome but like this past storms though I had a picture it seemed to breakup then reform, never lost the audio & there was not any static. All in all I’m totally satisfied with this product and have recommended to friends. I’ve saved hundreds of dollars so far on cable bills, which was steadily going up, when I hit the $200. I knew I had to find an alternative an this is definitely it.
