Herodotus and the Philosophy of Empire

This booked looked really hot for the purposes that I bought it. As I started to read through it I was quite disappointed. I like to have the orthodoxies challenged but the theories expounded by the author where the most radically unusual I've ever read concerning Herodotean scholarship. They are totally metaphysical. Perhaps once Ive read it from cover to cover, I may revise my review. MAYBE!?
