easy to use and I think accurate as I measured out the salt for my tank according to instructions on the salt bag, and when I tested it, it showed exactly what it was supposed to show. I've used it twice now and nothing changed from the first time, so I'm convinced it's great.

Great item

I have a very simple task: distinguish between fresh and saltwater in the bilges of boats without tasting. This instrument is very effective for that purpose, requires no batteries, is easy to read, and is very reliable. I only need to distinguish values near 0 from values near 35 ppt, so can’t speak for how well it would work for more demanding applications, but it works for me.

Definitely didn't come pre calibrated. BUT was super easy to calibrate just put some RODI water on it and used the tool provided. It's surprisingly accurate and love the ease of use instead of other methods. The build quality feels and looks nice. Other than the calibration part we'll see how it continues to do.

This item is perfect it even came pre calibrated and it comes with a nice case and comes with lil extra tools instructions included

Great value and works Great

I’m a big fan of digital instruments but there are issues including calibration problems that can be challenging to resolve. I love this device. Mechanical, optical, and easy to calibrate. I would rather have this than the digital device that’s three times the price. A pleasure to use once you get the hang of it. Don’t forget to drop the plastic cover over the test sample, and get yourself under a good light.

Broken internal lens, the entire box doesn’t show any damage but when i opened it and tried to use it couldn't clearly see the values, the i unscrew the eye lens, and found the internal lens broken.
