Needed button elastic but couldn't get it. Cutting small longitudinal slits made a great substitute

This is a soft elastic
This elastic is very soft, and when used in a waistband it rolled and twisted quite a bit. A stiffer, thicker elastic would be a better choices for waistbands. As for being soft, yes it is. The quality is fine, and well made.
