Don't think so much, just buy it and enjoy...
This is a great upgrade coming from basic XCT suntour, is light weight, is a really improve for the driving, more confortable and secure, I'm doing better on downhill becasuse I feel more secure, the rebound control works great, and the bike looks really cool whit this fork, totally recommended.

Perfect fork for a spring to air upgrade on the cheap
Replaced a SR Suntour spring fork on a Cube eBike.Pros: Easy install - with the right size / wheel mount / steering tube it fit right in. Works as advertised, adjustable, lockout functions, major improvement in the ride compared to spring fork.Cons: No attachment points / screw holes for fenders or lights that the Suntour had. Zip ties to the rescue... Also, I would say the rebound settings range from slow to really really slow.I was definitly eyeing the $150 random air forks on Amazon but for an extra $100 you get the Rockshox quality.

Good entry level air shock
I like the price, look, and features available for the recon silver rl. The fork is super responsive on my local trails. The 50 hour service is kinda a pain, but I managed to perform it as a noob with some past 90s era bmx experience. Overall I would recommend the fork for someone trying to upgrade from a factory coil fork

Amazing fork
What can I say, rockshox is one of the big names for a reason! Bought this to replace my sr suntour xcm and right away there was a noticeable difference in weight and maneuverability. I have yet to trail test it but, I'm already confident that it will far exceed my expectation. Be warned it doesn't come with a crown race so do your research and make sure to be prepared with a plan to remove the crown race from your old fork or be smarter than me and just order a new crown race when you order the fork. Also, if you don't have an actual air fork shock pump get one. I weigh 225 and the stock air pressure in the fork was not enough to handle my body weight and a regular bike pump isn't suitable for airing up a fork and can cause damage

Very light and good absorption.
Installed to my Hyper Explorer, drastically improved how it rides. You can adjust the damper rebound as well as compression through turnkey adjustments, and you can adjust the air pressure through the valve on the left hand side. Great value for the money.

A little overpriced, but worth it.
First of all the fork is definitely overpriced because mostly everyone is sold out and it's on backorder in a lot of places. So you're basically gonna have to pay an extra $50 USD if you really can't wait. I called several bike shops and the nearest time frame to receive a fork was the end of May 2021, and I really needed a new fork so I decided to buy it.PerformanceThis is my first air fork so I can't really base my review off a previous fork. The fork has 5 different compression settings and I think 4-5 rebound speed settings. It performed very nicely on the long trail ride. I did 24 miles total on the first ride and I don't have any complaints on it. The impacts get absorbed nicely and it's definitely a big upgrade from my last fork (coil). Other than that I'll be posting a long term review in the future.

Great so far! Make sure you have the right tools or you'll hate life.
Just got this today and installed on my 2021 Giant Talon 2 29er. Took several pounds off the bike, and wow does it ride smoothly right over curbs. Comes pre-pressurized with about 100 psi of air which, according to the fork's guidance, is good for someone 160-180lbs. I'm 175 so it worked great for me.If you want to install this yourself, you're going to need a bunch of tools:- Hammer- Weighted rubber mallet- Bike multi-tool- Star nut installation tool- Flat head screwdriver- Several razor blades- Thick work gloves- Pipe cutter- Bike stand or something else you can mount your bike to for working on it.The part that takes the longest is removing the crown race. The stock one was compressed to my stock fork tightly. I didn't have a specialized Park Tool crown race removal tool (because I'm not running a bike shop...), so I had to use the razor blades to wedge and hammer one in between the crown race and the fork's top, then hammer in another, then another, etc to slowly lift the crown race. Be careful not to cut yourself or destroy your old fork! Also, highly recommend you pick up a star nut install tool (~$25) to save yourself screwing up your new fork, and a pipe cutter (also ~$25) that comes with a deburring tool to cut the fork pipe smoothly and avoid getting metal shavings from a file mixed into the grease of your shiny new fork. There's a broad selection of both here on Amazon.I've only taken the bike around the block and over a few curbs so far in test riding, looking forward to getting out on a ride this weekend!
