Like the title says, I almost cancelled my order because I honestly believed that we were not going to receive our umbrellas!Let's start from the beginning. We live in the south (Texas) and it can get HOT. What better way to beat the sun than with a pool? But what if that pool is in the sun all day? Let's solve that with a sun shade! Never mind that, those are terrible. UMBRELLAS THEN!We located Purple Leaf on Amazon and I found them to be quite impressive. I really liked the base design and the sheer weight of the base was noted (300 something lbs when loaded). I have seen umbrellas take flight and I wanted something truly sturdy. The umbrella itself looked great, heavy shade material, and they were in-stock! KIND OF... This is where it gets complicated...We ordered the Umbrellas, noticed that they were in-stock, and had prime available. Great!*FOUR WEEKS LATER* - Where is my SHADE?! It's been 100+ for a few days to be fully transparent.So I called Amazon. I was fully convinced that we were never going to receive our umbrellas. They were in forever 'pending shipping' / 'we will let you know mode'. So again, I called. Nice guy on the phone who stated that he understood why we were going to cancel... (nice conversation and we had confirmation of a cancelled order and pending refund) or so I thought... 24 hours later, I get a confirmation that my order was shipped.. What the fudge... Did I still want them? Was Amazon making me get them? Is it life's goal I now have these umbrellas?! Jeff saw my order and made it fulfilled?!48 hours later, I had TWO large umbrellas. There they were. Just weeks late. I wondered, if I never made the call, 'would they have shipped?!'... That was irrelevant now.Setup: Setup was SUPER easy. You have to order the bases separately and it might be a pain to do so, but whatever, it's there thing. I ordered the: 'PURPLE LEAF Offset Umbrella Base Cantilever Umbrella Base, 32.3'' X 32.3''"Back to setup. The bases are all put together in a large box, clearly labeled and all you have to do is figure out where you want your base and remove the plastic packaging. Super simple. The base looks tough (very hard plastic) and does not appear it will fail. The ports for water & sand installment are on top of the base and are easily located.I purchased the Purple Leaf beige 10 x 12 umbrella and it arrived in a huge box. It was heavy in an awkward way. No high deal, carried it in with my wife and we got to opening the box. Oh how thankful we were when we noticed that they entire thing was assembled! just some plastic on the outside as a cover and then the inside. We did notice that it came with a heavy mounting base that secured to the above base. Good design. I now see why this thing costs so much.I went to my local Home Depot and purchased 200lbs of play sand. I wasn't going to break the bank on this one; each 50lb bag was 5.97 lol. I bought all the necessary sand and brought it home. I learned quick of the method... Open the base port WITHOUT the umbrella installed and begin filling sand. Then after some time, lift up the base so you can make the sand even. Do this a few times until each unit has consumed it's 50lbs of sand. Then add water. THEN attach the umbrella. Method to the madness.End: Once your base is heavy, install the umbrella. We opened the umbrella immediately and noticed that the base would not move; it had to weigh 300lbs or so with the water.Conclusion: They are worth every dime. They are mega umbrellas. I hated the wait. I was sure I was going to be umbrella-less forever. But now we have shade. The setup is easy. The material is great super heavy fabric (like an intense duffle bag material or better) and the crank system works like a charm. Would I buy them again? Yes.TL;DR: Wait is bad. Texas is hot. Umbrellas are good. Beer is best in shaded pool.

Our old umbrella was due for a replacement. We researched for a while and looked into several options here on Amazon but finally selected this 10ft square cantilever Umbrella from Purple Leaf. There was an initial confusion with the color we selected but this was immediately addressed by Purple Leaf's excellent customer service. It's rare and unexpected to get great customer service these days so kudos to them.The large box arrived quickly. The assembly was relatively simple... attaching the foot section to the base with 4 included bolts... Sliding the main post on top of the foot section.... removing foam protection inside and voila! The base is NOT included as specifically mentioned in the product description but I already had one heavy enough that fits perfectly. If you don't have one, buy one! You will need it!The umbrella is fantastic and beautiful. The finish feels solid and definitely not cheap compare too many others we looked at. The canopy fabric (we chose beige) looks great once fully open without any folds. The beige color provide great shade while keeping it cool. The handle mechanism is surprisingly easy to use as it sort of glides up and down between the noches without effort once you press the lever. The crank is also easy to use although the last turn or two to fully open will need a bit of strength. The bottom crank allows you to rotate the umbrella which was a surprise for us and very useful. The various angles you can set it work perfect for us as we use it mostly in late afternoon when the sun is not strait up but further down west. It easily covers our 6-seater with a nice shade. The height is perfect and the size is impressive. It was left open during relatively strong wind last week without any issue at all but of course, make sure to have a proper heavy base.Overall, we could not be any happier with our purchase and highly recommend this umbrella over any others you will find here.

After doing all sorts of searching for shade options for our pool here in North TX, I'm glad I spent the extra money on the 10x10 Cantilever Umbrella from Purple Leaf. Yes, it isn't the cheapest but you absolutely get what you pay for with this one! It is very well put together and while I likely could've installed it myself, having an extra set of hands to slot the umbrella into the base is definitely what I would recommend.Unlike other reviewers, everything showed up with the umbrella as expected - so all of the tools, screws, covers, and instructions came in the box. I also received the product fairly quickly - in less than a week's time for both the umbrella and the base (highly recommend spending the extra $ on the base with wheels - makes it so much easier to move and maneuver!). The one button handle makes raising and lowering the umbrella super simple and the provided crank makes rotating the umbrella to right the right angle a breeze too. In our case, it provides a solid area of shade during both the morning and afternoon sun that hits out pool. Given how our pool is setup, having multiple umbrellas wouldn't work but the large shade spots created throughout the day make a huge difference temp wise when we get into the pool.In terms of how it responds to the wind, we get plenty of it in the backyard but the umbrella design handles it with ease. A recent pop-up storm warning that indicated wind gusts of over 30mph made me lower the umbrella and secure it via the velcro straps just to be on the safe side, but it seems to handle double digit gusts (<20mph) pretty well. Funny enough, turns out my neighbor across the street purchased the same umbrella for his backyard last year and it still looks great!All in all, I'm incredibly happy with this purchase and with the color we picked which matched our pool setup pretty well. Highly recommend it as it will be money well spent!

The Purple Leaf umbrella is great quality, has been amazing for the warmer days to have somewhere protected for my little ones to play without getting burnt.Overall easy experience to setup, we bought the sand base for the umbrella which is really sturdy, definitely needed 2 people as it is a large umbrella and base.Definitely would recommend this umbrella, folds away nicely, included cover is great. Happy with our purchase.

J'ai reçu le parasol et j'ai commandé la base qui va avec. J'ai déballé les deux articles mais je ne les ai pas encore installés car nous sommes en mars et le temps n'est pas propice à l'installation d'un parapluie extérieur. Cependant, je peux voir que ce sont des articles de qualité supérieure que vous attendez du prix. Le temps nous le dira, mais de la qualité supérieure, je suis convaincu qu'ils seront ce que nous voulions.

Suite à un violent coup de vent (>60 km/h), notre parasol s'est envolé et deux baleines ont été endommagées (1 cassée et 1 tordue). Le support après-vente a été merveilleux! Ils nous ont envoyé sans frais 2 nouvelles baleines et une vidéo très détaillée avec les instructions de réparation. Nous adorons ce magnifique parasol (avec ses lumières led intégrées !)
