Perfect upgrade for Home Defense Shotgun, Easy installation and Great Results - Mossberg 500
I decided to do some upgrades to my trusty old Mossberg 500 and one thing that always has been a struggle was finding a solid sight system for it.First I had an ATI heat shield with integrated ghost ring sights but they were made from polymer and mounted too far forward, kind of cheesy honestly. Then I attempted to modify a set of Tru Glos to work on this shotgun but sighting was impossible. So, this time around I was strongly considering the XS sighting systems Ghost ring rail with banded front night sight, which I would have loved to have but the $150 price tag had me on the fence for a 20 year old shotgun. But then it dawned on me, what good is a ghost ring paired with a night sight ? In a dark environment where your night sight would be imperative the black steel ghost ring would not be visible and possibly obscure your view of the front sight. So my best option I this case seemed to be this product. The price is right, installation was pretty straight forward and only took about 20 minutes not counting epoxy dry time and the result is excellent. The white big dot surrounding the tritium vial is very bright and easy to pick up and even as far away as the end of the barrel is the night sight is clearly visible in a dark room.A word of advice when installing , dry fit the sight and tape off around the perimeter. Use that as a grid to abrade the barrel finish only in the area needed, wipe thoroughly with alcohol before applying the epoxy, and the tip from another reviewer of using a zip tie to secure overnight was perfect. You Will Need to Purchase Epoxy for Installation, I ordered JB Weld along with the sight for another $4, worked great.I cant say 100% because I have only just installed it but as it stands now the sight is a great buy.

Wonderful
Easy to install with some JB weld, looks great, glows bright, and looks factory once installed.I want to write a longer review but the honest truth is, this was the best investment I have put on my shotgun in a long time. I am not gonna lie and say its cheap (I am pretty stingy), but it is worth the cost. Honestly I love how bright the yellow is in low light, and with the tritium dot it is easy to find a reference point in the dark, and the glow-ring feature is nice. Really love this sight, and if you are on the fence, this is a great sight for home defense. If you are looking for one for Hunting or Sporting Clays though I would not recommend this sight (go look at the hi-viz fiberoptic sights if you need a brighter sight for those needs), but that's not why I bought it, and I doubt that's what brought you to this product in the first place.

Easy to install on an 870 and makes a big difference.
Was a little worried about using the JB Weld epoxy. It worked great! The XS Sight in orange on my 870 is a great fit. Looks factory. Very visible in dark and poor light. My white light would illuminate the original bead sight, but a white light is not needed in every case. This sight fills that void and then some!

Love this sight
I was a bit unsure when I ordered this sight, but after watching videos on youtube on how to install it, I could do a good job mounting it. I removed the factory bead and replaced it with the provided one in the XS Sight package. The only drawback is that it didn't come with the adhesive needed to bond it to the barrel. The sight itself is glued on and not screwed in. I bought J-B Weld 5,000 PSI to cement the sight. After properly affixing it, I used a small clamp to keep it in place while it dried up. After 12 hrs, it was perfectly attached. The product is well-built and sits perfectly well on my shotgun. It looks and feels like it came factory installed. The sight provides a clear and bright view in all lighting conditions. This shotgun sight, is one of the best options out there.

Much improved from factory sight bead
Pros:It glows about the same intensity as pistol sights. It’s bigger than most factory beadsHas white and black inset for changing environments.Cons:Make sure you are willing to be patient to set correctlyYou will need a few other tools around to install.Irreversible once setYou will need:JB Weld mix, Clamps or a vice, alcohol, a cotton cloth, q tips to clean up the bond mix once you’ve set the sight, needle nose pliers for the inset metal beadReview:I have a Mossberg 930 that came with a cylinder-like bead sight from the gun merchant. It was very low to the barrel and I would always shoot too high on the target. I didn’t want to spend 250+ on a sight like a Holosun due to the maintenance of such scopes. Also, I’m not a hired assassin, so I don’t need to spend too much on a gun. It has a job it will probably never be called upon to do. I just wanted something simple that gave me a similar feel to my sights on my pistol in the dark. The setup was easy but I made sure I checked sight alignment while using clamps to set the sight correctly. It fits solid and I see so much clearer with the sight. Low maintenance and the bead aligns in a “second nature” position once I pull from the ready position. Hopefully I will never have to use this system for it’s designed purpose. But I feel much better with this sight than anything with batteries, or that’s much smaller, or that might have electrical malfunctions.

As Described Functions as Intended Although Mounting Feels Sketchy at Best
Liked the Big Dot night sight, it's bright enough in the dark and is very easy to see during the day. Made of metal so you don't have to worry about junky plastic cracking and breaking and the tritium makes your sight visible in the dark. Mounting with JB Weld seems sturdy and secure enough but, it feels a little sketchy and I'm skeptical about how it will hold up in the long term but, if it means being able to install a night sight on my 870 Express versus none at all, then I can't complain. The only real complaint was the hugely oversized and overkill plastic shell packaging, I'm sure it's just repurposed packaging but it feels kinda silly.
