Very nice padding and fits well
I've worn this short now for a total of about 400 km in rides from indoors on my trainer (30km) to paved outdoor bike trails (with at least two 4 hour'ish 100km rides). The shorts fit nicely and comfortably. If you're looking for real compression and between sizes I'd pick the smaller... if you're looking for less compression, and between sizes, pick the larger. If you're looking to store any thing like ID or keys in some small pocket in these shorts... not happening so you'll need either a jersey with pockets or some other place to put these. I've washed the shorts about 6 times now and they are seeming to hold up to "perma-press" wash and "low temp" drying using Tide, Clorox 2, and NO softener. For the record I'm a 230 lbs, 6 footer with a 38inch waist. The XL fits nicely, not too tight and not too loose. The Grippers work quite well... but, if you've got longish leg hair, the grippers might pull on them a bit. My Typical weekly ride distance is 150km to 230km

decent shorts, but the small is not very
The gel chamois is comfortable, but the fit is a bit on the large size (size small - Pearl Izumi small fits me well). Because of the fit and the fact that the gel chamois is a bit stiff my backside ends up looking pretty wrinkled around the pad edges when I'm standing - on the bike it is fine. would be 4 stars if the small were smaller or there were an XS to choose

Great materials, poor design
I'm XL in everything else, but in these, the Large fits properly.Unfortunately, the pad seems to be one size, and that size is XXXL.The fabric is smooth and durable. The stitching is clean and looks nice.Unfortunately, there is a stitch in the very front and center, most of the way down to the pad. This chafes way too much when riding. It's a severe design error that should never happen.Basically, I think these designed for women, and sized for men.

so when I sit forward on my bike in good low riding position
I ordered large and have 34 inch waist. Standing up straight, It is a bit loose in the behind. Mind you the design of threading is curved, so when I sit forward on my bike in good low riding position, the fit is proper. legs are perfect and has flat drawstring to adjustments. Pad is comfortable on 25K plus rides. good shorts for money.

Beware sizing chart
The shorts seemed to be good quality, but ordered the wrong size. Didn't notice that when clicking on sizing guide, the default was for the women's sizes. There was an entirely different tab for men's sizes. My fault, but confusing nonetheless.

Fit was perfect for me
Always nervous buying a new pair of bike shorts. I ordered a large, i am 6' 225lbs. Fit was perfect for me. I was going out to ride 60 mile road ride in 80-92 degrees and was not sure if I should try them on that ride. I did. When I was done with the ride I suddenly remembered I had new shorts on. Wow, perfect that I did not notice them. Washed them and rode 45 on the mt bike the next day in similar heat. perfect. Could not be happier.

Really good product
I was really impressed as I was opening the package at the quality of the material, very soft touch, and the padding is really soft. The gel makes all the difference and I already went on a ride with it and forgot I was sitting on a bike seat. It really did the job well, and it's night and day from lesser quality padded shorts. I will probably purchase a 2nd one so I don't stink up the one I have and overwash and wear it out. So far so good!

and they're a little looser than I would have liked but the waist band and leg bands fit well
First pair of bike shorts I've ever purchased. Seems adequate. A little difficulty getting them to sit right, and they're a little looser than I would have liked but the waist band and leg bands fit well.
