Not bad for a meal in the woods
Bought a case of these MRE's to take out into the woods on our hunting trip. I can't really complain about anything. All the choices taste ok and they had plenty in the packs to get you filled up. If you were not full after you ate the main course then you can easily continue eating the crackers and peanut butter that comes with each pack. And if you are still hungry then you can eat the raisins, cookie and pop tart that comes with it. Once all of that is eaten then you can mix the lemonade mix with a bottle of nice cold water to wash everything down.

waist of money apac mre's don't buy
I am giving these one star because the lemon drink mix in these meals are not fit to drink i bought 9 cases and every drink mix packet was a brown clump in the pouch don't waist your money buy the US.Military mre's. One other thing the cookie that comes with the diner is so hard it takes two hands to break and whe id does you have something not worth eating. What a waist of money.

Close, but NO.
These A-Pack (Ameriqual) Ready Meals are a commercial version of a military MRE packaged in a clear plastic pouch. First I'll list the contents, as this is a point of contention amongst people as to what a "MRE" should contain. 1: Entrée, a entrée (MRE style), b flameless heater, c activator (salt water pouch), d cardboard sleeve 2: Crackers (MRE style) 3: Fig bars (MRE style) 4: Raisins (MRE style) 5: Skittles (commercial) 6: 2 Life Savers mints 7: Accessory pack, a commercial spork (white), b pepper, c salt-free seasoning, d moist towelette 8: Nutritional info card These meals are 1000-1100 calories depending on entrée. I would argue that these meals are about 500 calories short of what a true MRE should be. The packaging is not "Mil-Spec". No familiar olive drab or brown pouch. The pouch is clear and all the contents are visible. The entrées are your typical MRE fare and are packaged as such. There are a variety of meals available. The flavor is as you would expect from an MRE. They are very bland and make good use of any seasoning you can throw at them. As for the flameless heater, these are a bit different from the Mil-Spec heaters, in that they require a saline solution to activate and not plain water like regular MRE's. I'll touch on why later. As side items, crackers, fig bars, raisins, and Skittles are included. These are the same no matter what the included entrée is. This is a MAJOR gripe. It would have been nice for certain meals to include tortillas instead of crackers, M&M's instead of Skittles, etc. Variety is SERIOUSLY lacking. Anyone familiar with MRE's will notice the omission of peanut butter or cheese spread from the included items list. Another disappointment. Also, notice there is no side dish as is present in certain other MRE offerings. These meals really could have used them for extra calories. Now is where the real gripes begin, the accessory pack. As anyone who has ever served knows, there are certain things that are necessary to be included in a MRE. First, and probably the least important is the white spork. Inside an MRE I always expect to see that familiar brown MRE spoon. I don't want any flimsy white KFC spork. Second, I want SALT go%%ammit. If the situation is bad enough that I'm dining on an MRE, do you really think I care about my sodium intake? Where the heck is the little Tobasco bottle? Why is there no Tobasco in this pouch? There's bullets flying around. I could get killed. I want flavor now. Where are the matches? I might need those. Why is there an MRE produced that doesn't include matches? Why no toilet paper? Ameriqual, you HAVE to include the little bundle of s#** tickets. Sanitation is going to be a big issue in any situation where I am dining from an MRE. Give me some TP in this thing. And here comes the gripe of all gripes. NO COFFEE. Nope. No sugar or creamer either. No orange flavored "sports drink" powder. NOTHING. No beverages whatsoever. This is madness because Ameriqual obviously assumes I don't have access to water, that's why they included the packet to activate the flameless heater for my entrée. OK Ameriqual, I don't have water for the instant coffee or sports drink. So you only supply me enough water for the heater? And it's a salted saline that I can't drink?!? So overall, would I buy A-Pack Ready Meals again? Not unless they were under $45/case. There's just so much missing here. No variety in the entrees (only 6 flavors I think), no variety AT ALL in the side items, no cheese or PB spread, no beverage powders, and a half-hearted attempt at an accessory pack. At least the entrees and side items are genuine MRE Mil-Spec. That's worth a couple bucks, right?
