This is a quality product that latches cleanly and securely, and is easy to open for someone tall enough to reach the top. Note that configuration will depend on which way the gate swings and whether you want the hardware on the inside or outside of the gate. In our case, my wife had wanted the hardware inside the gate and the vertical part that you pull up on the swinging part of the gate with the latching element on the fixed post, but fortunately we figured out before installing that would not work and had to reverse. Also, while the latch can be adjusted depending on how far the edge of the gate is from the post, it is not unlimited. In our case the gap between the gate and the post was about 3-4" and I can't picture making it stretch any farther (check the specs to make sure I have this right).

I have used these for years and have found them to be long lasting and reliable. I have installed them on several different gates from metal to wood. This latest version has improved upon the original design and now features a visual indicator. I will say that I do wish it was larger than just a little red dot. It really needs to be able to be seen from a distance and from all sides to be the most useful. Perhaps it could be a red band around the lifting latch rod or some other means. Other than that it has the great features that made it popular to begin with. The magnetic latching system by far is the best one available IMO. It works so reliably. The tall vertical latch keeps it limited to taller people to operate. The key and cylinder do need the occasional oiling for best results, but they work fine. The finish doesn't fade easily. This is a lock that will last at least a decade or more with proper care and maintenance. 4 solid stars.

Replaced a 6 year old magnalatch with this one. It fits and works perfectly.

Admittedly I was a little timid about doing this installation but was happy that the installation was a breeze! The package even include a spacer for the gap between the fence and gate that seemed like it was made just for this gate! The instructions weren’t detailed but easy to figure out how to install this latch. Works great!

Our pool gate lock broke so I ordered this one and it arrived so quickly which was important because I need to make sure my kids can’t get into the pool area on their own. This lock was easily installed and does a great job. I’m very very pleased!

This latch is really secure and pretty easy to install on your pool gate. It's not bulky at all and still has a nice bit of weight to make it sturdy and solid and it works each and every time, no worries about it failing.
