Why spend tons of dollar bills on brand name cleaning products to clean gun parts (not plastic parts)? Well this has been a known trade secret among armorers within the services and I have used it prior and since I was strapped for cash, I decided to get some environmentally friendly mineral spirits.Get a stainless steel bowl, a strainer and set the parts to soak. Give it a few minutes, strain and wipe down and the gunk and carbon bleeds off. The hard carbon may take a minute but it will be easier to scrub off. All the heavy material settles to the bottom and with further straining you can pretty much recycle the spirits back into the bottle for future use. Not indefinite, but future. Obviously keep out of reach of pets, children and food. Comes with some heavy duty nitrile chemical gloves which can be cleaned and re-used as long as they are not abraded or punctured.The price seemed a bit more expensive than I last remembered, of course, last time I had a gallon of this was in 2009, so dollars have changed since (thank you inflation).Overall a good product with multiple uses, I just happen to use it as a gun cleaning agent.

I ordered this minerals Spirits by mistake (the only difference from the regular mineral spirits was a tiny tiny little label on the top right front saying it was recycled). I didn't realize it was made from recycled product. But once I poured it out and noticed it was milky white I knew something was wrong. I am fine art oil painter. I read the instructions it said you could use it in place of regular mineral spirits. so I took them at their word. I tried to clean my brushes with it and it gummed them all up and they would not come clean afterwards even with regular mineral spirits. I ruined several expensive brushes trying to use this product. I returned it. I would not recommend it for anything if it does not work for oil paint it does not work for anything.

I bought this produce also and it is not as advertised it's complete garbage and I think amazon needs to take this fony mineral spirits off of Amazon because people are getting ripped off.
