The small pieces are cut just right, and the tin is exactly as depicted. For me, the packages were actually larger than I expected. This is an excellent product, delivered "before expected!"

Burns hot for a short time.
Interesting, but I really couldn't use them to get a fire going unless the tinder and kindling was very dry. Dry enough that I could use a UCO stormproof match alone. They burn very hot, but burn out so fast that it didn't work very well. I feel that if you can get a fire lit with these, you could probably get it lit without them!

Worth every penny.
The rod works flawlessly I’ve no idea why others are complaining. Do as the instructions say and remove the very light black paint to see a metal. Bam, every strike is gold. Haven’t tested out the shavings yet but they look of the same good quality. Very happy with this purchase.

Great product.
This works as advertised. My only issue is with the size. I wish they had shown something as a reference to let you see the size of the tin. The picture makes it look fairly large, its not. Next time, I'll order the large one.

great product, poor packaging
I haven't used this yet, but I'm excited too. The only issue I have is the tin it comes in. It's a little too small and the lid doesn't stay on. Once I start using it, there shouldn't be a problem as product won't be as bulky. Until then....
