Great boots, great fit, high quality!
Best boots ever, they fit great and they are super comfortable.I had other brand of boots during the police academy and they were uncomfortable and heavy and gave me blisters. At the academy we had to run in boots and ran a lot and ran everywhere, I discovered these boots almost at the end of the academy when I saw them in a classmate. He loved them and so do I.The boots I had before had a side zipper and I though that was helpful during quick changes but these boots are even better! The speed laces make them so easy to lace up and get going.Incredibly comfortable, is like running with sneakers.Pros:LightweightTrue fit.Almost no break in period (2 or 3 10 hour days did it)Speed laces make them easy to put on and take off.The soles are comfortableGood support everywhere.Great craftsmanship.CheapCons:To give them a shine took about 5 hours, the came in flat black, to shine them up to academy standars took about 16 coats and then some. A lot a lot of work. But after the shine was completed they hold shine very well. Not made in the US, Vietnam made.I have not run into any issues that other people has mentioned. They first pair I had went through a lot of abuse at the academy, a lot of running and push ups and tactics trainig including jumping over 6 foot walls and chainlink fences and the most important....... hours of marching! With all that abuse the sole help up very well and so did the boots. I was using them well after the academy. They would've lasted me longer but I made the rookie mistake of trying to put out a road flare by stomping on it and that did not work out well, it almost burn a hole through the sole but as I learned, a road flare will burn a hole through any sole.I highly recommend these boots and actually all danner products

Great boots
I work for a large urban PD. I’ve been wearing these boots on patrol for the past three month. I’ll give you the good and bad of the time I’ve worn them. The bad:Break-in... A lot of reviewers say they have no breakin period but mine took about a week to really feel “right on my feet”. That said they’re awesome once they’re broken inPolish... first polish flaked right off. I stripped with alcohol and polished with parade gloss. Now they’re good to go. I’d recommend stripping whatever danner puts on with alcohol before you polishBreathablity... not an issue for me but if you’re prone to athletes foot you may want the non-gortex version. These do breath better than Danner Patrols or AcaciasThe good:Weight... these boots are light as feathersFit... I have a wide foot and got the regular width. After a week of wear they fit like gloves. No hot spots, no discomfort. I’ve stood for long periods and ran in these and they’re greatDurability... I was always skeptical of this type of boot based on their flimsy build. Not the case with these. While they’re flexible and light the soles are still sturdy enough to deal with the rigors of patrol work and the upper is made of tough material.Waterproof.... I’ve trudged through puddles and rain during the monsoons here and my feet stayed dryBottom line: I’d recommend these to anyone looking for a lightweight yet tough patrol boot that’ll fit and feel more like a sneaker

Comfortable and waterproof
These boots are worth it for the lightweight and waterproof alone. These boots are comfortable to wear daily and I work up to 16 hour days. The quality feels good, boots are lightweight, and I haven't had issues with the waterproof. The only issue I had was that my old boots (same Danners) bottom tread rubbed away in about 2 years. The bottom of my old boots look bald and smooth. I'll probably keep buying these for work, they are currently my favorite work boots.

Did my feet grow, or did they make them a bit smaller now?
I bought a pair of 13-D boots 2 years ago and immediately was unhappy.1- When putting the boot on, there was no structure to the upper part of the boot. It's basically leather and water-resistant mesh. The bottom of the boot kept flopping around as I tried to pull them on.2- There isn't a pull tab or loop to help you pull the boot onto your foot. As I pulled it onto my second foot, I heard and audible short 'RRRP' and thought I tore something. It seems that I didn't do any damage but it scared me about my new boots.3- They were snug. Very snug. Not to the point that they hurt, but were a bit uncomfortable.4- They were quite light, to the point that I worried about their durability.I had previously been buying Magnum boots in the $80-110 price range and these were $150+. I thought about returning them but decided to try them for a few days. And I am glad I did. They broke in within a week or two and ended up being the most comfortable boots I have had in a long, long time. The bottom of the boot upper (not the tread) is durable leather about an inch high. Anything hitting the side of the boot will hit leather. The rear going up to the top of the boot also has a leather strip, from the ankle upwards, giving a bit of protection from something hitting your foot from behind. The rest seems like mesh, but does not let in water if you quickly remove your foot after going into a good sized puddle.I will wear anything from a 12.5 wide to a 13 to a 13 wide, depending on what kind of shoe / boot / sneaker I am getting and how the manufacturer sizes them. For winter wear I would often get a wide to handle thicker socks. After a year and a half the tread wore down to the point where I needed new boots. I decided to get a pair of Magnum Stealth Force 6" waterproof boots. I bought these in the past and remembered liking them. When I got them they felt like bricks. Very heavy compared to the Danner 8" boots, and though I did get a wide, they seemed a bit loose around the toe. I wasn't thrilled, especially since they wore unevenly after about 6 months. I decided to get another pair of Danner 13-D boots. And the two year newer Danners hurt like h@@@. They squeezed my toes to the point that my toes bunched up and I got blisters. I had to wrap sports tape around my toes to wear them I hoped they would break in and widen a bit but no-go after a month. Athletic socks I wore with these started getting holes on the side of the toe from the friction of the tight boot. I ended up returning them and getting the same boots but now in a 13-2E wide.I just put on the 13 2E wide and they feel snug. Not too snug. Just a bit uncomfortable. Just like the 13 D boots I got two years ago. So did my feet get a bit bigger? Or did manufacturing change a bit since I bought these before? I dunno.BTW, I'm wearing the same athletic socks I normally do, since these are actually pretty good in winter temps going down to freezing. I often wear thermals below 30F but haven't had problems with my feet being cold unless I stand in a snowdrift for a while.
