Super Light, Packs Small, Breaths Well!
Super awesome bivy bag. Its super strong, very light, and packs down surprisingly small! I can fit my winter sleeping bag, and winter sleeping mat inside the bivy without losing any loft! The camo is gorgeous and works well with just about any terrain. (Im a big fan of keeping a low profile). Bivy bag kept me dry in rain and kept me a lot warmer because it blocks wind real well. No condensation issues. I order the "Very Good" option, and it appears to be brand new! No wear is shown on my bag. Zippers function well, and the added velcro on the hood helps out a ton! Im in love with this Bivy bag! It is by far the best Bivy I own. I cant wait to use it in the snowy/cold winter!**EDIT** After a few years, my bivy bag is still 100 percent waterproof (i havnt had to add any waterproofing to it) It still looks brand new, and has ZERO damage. This thing is so awesome! My friends get jealous because it takes me only 1 minute to setup camp. No needing to string hammocks and guy lines for tents! I just plop this down wherever I need to sleep and stuff it with my sleeping mat and sleeping pad and BOOM im done! Snow, rain, puddles, NOTHING seeps through! This bag "breathes" perfectly. I dont know how, but even in the winter I wake up with ZERO condensation! This thing will keep the wind out 100 percent. I think it honestly provides more shelter than a tent! Now for some cons and its not much: First, this bag doesnt have a netting in it, so bugs can technically get to you. You can remedy this with some netting or with a sleeping bag that has netting installed. Second con is that it cant be propped up without using a stick so if it rains, there is not much room to move around. That being said, this bag is perfect for all terrains and weather types. Why even bring a tent if the weather is going to be good? And who cares if it rains when you got this!THANKS TENNIER FOR MAKING THE BEST BIVY BAG ON THE PLANET!

Good product, fair price.
Having served in the US Army using this exact piece of equipment, I can say first hand that the item I recieved is high quality. While I can tell that the item was issued and used, I can also say that it is definitely not worn out or destroyed beyond use. There were no holes in mine, there was also no real wear on it despite it being listed as "Grade 2". McGuire Surplus sells these items cheaper on Amazon for some reason. The price difference was almost $10 between their site and Amazon, so I bought it here on Amazon. Im not a fan of UCP, but im just going to use this item for bivouacing and some field training ill be doing in the civilian side of things. I have no doubt that ill get many more miles out of this bivvy cover.

Handy Outdoor Protection
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Item was in better than advertised condition, light in weight and has a reputation of durability. It will provide easily carried, quickly deployed shelter from outdoor elements and temperatures. I would choose this vendor again.

Great Bivy value
It is indeed new, unopened and in perfect shape. And it appears to be a "Goretex-like" material, but I guess there is some question in the reviews as to whether it is the genuine Goretex brand or just a similar PTFE membrane material That doesn't make much difference to me.I got this just to extend the temperature range of my 0° F sleeping bag (which is really only comfortable to about 25° F), but I have not tried it out yet. So I cannot vouch for the breathability or warmth, but it looks exactly like what I hoped it would be. It has a faint "plastic" or chemical smell that is not too bad, and maybe to be expected for a PTFE layer cover that has been stored, wrapped, and shipped in an almost air-tight plastic bag, so I am airing ot out. I don't anticipate a problem in use.

If you're sleeping outside and don't have one of these you should get one
I honestly have no idea how people camp without using a bivy cover. I've slept in literally flooded holes in the ground in one of these and it kept my sleeping bag as dry as is physically possible under those conditions and when I say slept I mean slept, none of that waking up and settling on self loath before going back to sleep in your austere conditions. I didn't know I was in a pond until the morning when I woke up half submerged(it wasn't a pond when I went to sleep). One time I woke up and had a layer of ice on my bivy cover and I was easily able to shed that strange burden and emerge from my sleeping bag still rested and perfectly healthy. I've slept in an ENO hammock and never experienced that windy and cold feeling people complain about and spend a bunch of money on a heavy under quilt to fix-- you don't need a big heavy expensive one purpose item to fix that feeling, you need a bivy cover and an adequate sleeping bag paired up--its the batman and robin of outside sleeping. I have never hiked into anywhere and thought to myself "I sure wish I hadn't brought this bivy cover hiking it back out is going to be a pain" That scenario has never ever occurred--it has happened with other items I've brought along but never ever ever with my bivy cover(one time I regretted bringing extra pants). If you sleep outside and think you deserve to be pampered you should get yourself a bivy cover.Always use this item as a cover for your sleeping bag or blanket it has miniscule insulating properties. But, when paired with a sleeping bag it's a magic sack of comfort and durability.

USGI Issue Gortex Bivy Bag
This item was brand new, still in bag, showed no signs of abuse in storage. Exactly as it was described. Very pleased with this purchase and item price at time of purchase.

well designed -- what i was looking for
haven't had a chance to use it in the rain yet, but it's well designed with two hefty zippers which allow two closure control methods and airflow between head and toe, heavy shock cord with strong tighteners, good stitching, heavy fabric. if the maker comes out with one like this with mosquito mesh across the head opening, i'll consider it seriously
