This item works great and does exactly as expected. OK, so why not give it a full 5 stars? It's on the flimsy side made with inferior plastic. I'd be in total love with it if I felt that it would stand the test of time, but I fear that over time it's quality won't last beyond a year or two of standard use. I could be wrong, and hope I am, but it just feels like flimsy. Nonetheless, IT WORKS GREAT!!!

It works very well to steam rice. I would buy it again.

For over 5 years I have owned a product that looks like it was made from the same mold. The old one is very similar. In fact, the lids are interchangeable.However, the original is much thicker. This one feels cheap.Also, because they are both made the same but one has thicker material, THE THIN ONE DOES NOT FASTEN DOWN SECURELY. The flaps just slip off because there is too much slack.Also the pressure vent on the lid will just lift off because the plastic is so thin that it does not secure to the lid. Just pulls or pops right off so no pressure can build.I shopped for something like my old one because, after years of service, I decided to ignorantly put oil in the bottom to crisp some tortillas. Turns out that oil captures microwaves and creates intense heat so the bottom melted. I shopped until finding this one that looks identical in a different color and indeed the parts interchange. THIS ONE IS MORE LIKE A CHILD'S TOY. It does allow heating food and does clean ok but it is not the quality I had hoped for so I am very disappointed.

used for the first time and absolute junk. if my wife had not destroyed the packaging I would have sent it back.Very disappointed!

I have a rice cooker very similar to this and it has lasted me over 14 years however I bought this one as a gift and it has not been great. It melted in the microwave cooking rice, during the first few months which was dangerous.
