Woodeze 4-Ton Electric Wood Splitter

I bought this splitter for light occasional use and works great. Ready to use out of the box. This is my first log splitter and didn't want to spend $800 or more on something I wouldn't use very often.I recommend this to those looking for a small, easy to move and store, light duty, inexpensive splitter.

Does the job well, although a bit slow on the rate of speed. The platform could benefit from the addition of a clamp bar to keep the log in place- sometimes it slips off if the piece's top's not nice and straight. I would recommend getting the stand if portability's not an issue.

Had the log splitter delivered and when I went to open the box one of the wheels was cracked and off the axle. The splitter better perform as well as advertised...

Lightweight and portable. I roll it out of garage, plug in with extension cord, and split the largest logs in my yard with ease (so far, the largest log I've split is 20 inch diameter black cherry).Update 10/14/2014: Device has become unreliable. The motor will not start about half the time - intermittent.

This arrived 3 days after I ordered it. I opened the box, read the manual, and within 15 minutes I had hooked it up (to a 15 amp extension cord, thanks to the reviews) and was using it. Don't forget to open the little valve on one end, it's simple (I just keep it open, no reason not to). I have a home with several fireplaces along the CA coast where we can have a fire pretty much every night. Our wood comes from a yard where it is only split into quarters, about 18" long - mostly too chunky for my taste. I get a mix of fir/pine and almond hardwood. After whacking myself in the leg several times with flying wood while using a double-bit axe, and realizing that only about 1/3 of the pieces could be split with an axe (and the fact I'm in my 60s now), I decided to get a log splitter. Being electric, this one only makes noise or uses energy when it is splitting; it's fairly quiet - the noise of the wood splitting is louder than the hydraulic ram. After using it for 4 weeks now I have only come across 2 pieces of wood that could not be split - and I was actually trying to find some. They both had huge knots in them. This will split any regular wood from limbs or rounds, in my experience. One word of advice: I was leaning over (it takes two hands to run it so you cannot sever any fingers...) at the side of the splitter, I had a couple pieces of wood that, when split, literally explode off the machine to the sides - they 'pop' as they split. I avoided getting hit, but since then I now work from the back (near the cord) as nothing seems to go that way. Wear plastic protective eyeglasses (cheap from the hardware store) as good insurance - you never know. And Gloves. I reached over to pull a log off and ran a splinter under my fingernail - ARGH - so gloves are a must.In a nutshell - for the money - this is a keeper. All my friends want to split wood when they come over now!

My husband found this on Amazon a few months ago and I was skeptical about buying an electric splitter. We rely on wood heat quite a bit through the winter and we need to split close to ten chords.The splitter came on Thursday and in Saturday we split nearly two chords of wood! We are very very happy with our purchase! I was intimidated at first, but it is so easy to use!!! We've talked about teaching our ten year old to run it while we cut down trees. One hand pushes a button and another hand pushes the hydraulic handle. A ten year old would have no problems using this!!!! It's that easy! We took a video of me using it but Amazon won't let me upload it. Bummer

This small splitter does a great job making our smaller rounds small enough to pack into the firebox of our wood stove. Thank you for making such a great product.
