Excellent, powerful, USB power NOT REQUIRED!
UPDATE: there is a tab the battery needs to slide under (see picture, tweezers pointing at tab that needed bending upwards) and my battery was on top of it as received. Bend that tab upwards, slide the battery underneath so it comes in contact with the (+) side and you don't need USB power for logging (although that is still optional, which is nice as I don't know how long the battery lasts. You can even squeeze 2477 BATEERY IN THERE BUT YOU HAVE TO TAPE THE BACK UP CAUSE THE COVER WONT FIT SEE VIDEO.I LOVE the flexibility of the software, the size, price, accuracy, ability to calibrate: it is all here. I have always dreamed of a device so simple and cheap yet configurable. Buy now! Note: you need usb power for these to be "logging". probably in the fine print somewhere, you would think if it requires a battery that would be good enough so an assumption was made. For the price though? Wow. software exports to excel, pdf, even can auto email to you but setting up the server is beyond me...assuming this thing is hooked up to a computer that is always on. may be wrong about that.

Gets the job done.
Took a bit of effort to get the data off of it, you need to configure the auto-upload location to be able to download the data, it will not just load into memory so you can copy it out without the real-estate on your hard drive. That "feature" isn't outlined in the manual, or maybe it is and i just couldn't tell after reading it since the manual seems to be a collection of translated words that may or may not fit the context of the intent. The logger itself could use a bit of fit-and-form adjustment, but it gets the job done, is very simple to use, and it work beautifully. Since "it works" is what i needed, it's awesome for the price and i'd recommend it for any non-regulated work that doesn't require shock- or crush- or water-resistant features. The missing star is just for not finding an editor for the manual.

The software is clunky, the unit appeared to have been used extensively, and did not record the settings programmed. Returned and moving on to something different.

Poor calibration function but it works well generally.
The reading have more than 3.0 degree (Celsius) difference between internal sensor and the external sensor. There is only one calibration value for the entire temperature range for both sensors, it is impossible to see the accurate temperature reading for both sensors for full range. I need to evaluate the difference for full range and need to put some kind of calculation after exporting the data into an Excel file. Overall the device works fine. .

Great Little Temperature/Humidity Logger.
This is quite an amazing little device for the price. The original reason I purchased this unit was to use when making fermented sausages and salumi where temperature and humidity are critical to the process. Currently it is being used to log the temperature of a batch of beer that is fermenting in a re-purposed refrigerator. The refrigerator also has a heater inside, the cooling and heating being controlled by another InkBird device, an ITC-308.I have an extra long usb cable attached to the TCH-4 routed to the outside so that I can download the data without removing the device from the refrigerator or opening the door. The software is very easy to use. I checked the accuracy of the sensor against a digital medical thermometer and it was within 0.5F. The software has an adjustable offset for calibration. I was so impressed that I ordered a second unit so that I can log the temperature of the refrigerator space as well when fermenting beer. Having a humidity reading for brewing beer is not necessary but an absolute must when making fermented sausages and salumi.

Great Value
Great product and easy to use and retrieve derailed log of temperature and humidity over time.

Solid, but unpolished.
We bought three of these for tracking temperature changes in shipments. We haven't tested them against calibration sources, but all three seem to perform consistently with each other so they work well enough for our purposes (we don't need extreme precision). The devices themselves are very easy to use. The software, though is a bit unpolished, and the misuse of the English language is awkward and confusing. As mentioned by another reviewer, they would do well to hire somebody to clean this up. The bottom line, though, is that they do what we want well enough and day-to-day operations are very easy to explain to others.

One Star
Requires software installed via CD-ROM. Most modern computers don't have CD-ROM anymore = unusable in that case.
