Bob's Red Mill Potato Flakes, 16oz (Pack of 1) - Non GMO, Vegan, Kosher

I buy these packets and store them in my freezer section to prolong longevity. They are so tasty and totally convenient and quickly prepared during those days when I am too tired to peel and boil whole potatoes. Besides the taste, I really like that the ingredients are ONLY POTATO FLAKES. No artificial coloring nor artificial flavorings, no preservatives, no salt. I myself can decide exactly what I want to add to the end product. Very different from other boxed potato flakes in the supermarkets.

My husband and I try to limit salt in our diets. Very difficult with today's processed foods.These potato flakes are amazing. Absolutely amazing.Easy to prepare, and their creaminess just works with roasted meats, or anything for that matter.I love the fact that they are salt free, and you can add your own seasonings.WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the ease of making each full bag of flakes. One at a time(total time about 50 minutes) and then just putting them in a tray - keeping them warm in the oven until I transferred them to hot box.100% approval by everyone - tasted like homemade - because the only ingredient is dried potatoes.

These are good flavored but do smell funny to me in the package. That’s probably because they don’t use any additives or preservatives. Pure classic potato flakes. That makes their flavor a bit plain but these are great for thickening anything with making it too potato like. Great in a clam chowder or even added to salmon patties to replace part of the breadcrumbs. Fine as mashed potatoes but need seasoning (which potatoes generally do anyway). The price point in bulk is better than buying one bag. It seems like a lot in this purchase so I will have to put these in airtight containers (in their original bags) and watch the dates. When I open a bag I don’t care for the closure so I put it in a jar or the original bag in a plastic ziplock bag. If you want no additives and easy to fix with decent flavor, this is a good choice.

Since we are trying to clean up our diets, I noticed Bob's Red Mill Instant Mashed Potato Flakes did not have sodium and other additives & preservatives like other brands, so I figured even though they were a flake, I'd give them a try. We were not disappointed. They weren't lumpy at all; they were smooth and creamy.They were easy to make, with just water, milk, and butter. It took just a couple seconds to whip them smooth. They tasted great and the bag makes quite a few nice sized servings. My bag arrived fresh and in good condition. For the size and number of servings, it is a good value. Two thumbs up!

It was recommended as the only instant potato product in which the only ingredient was POTATOES... nothing else. I am so glad to have something to use without any additives whatsoever. It makes excellent mashed potatoes, as promised.

The texture is exactly like the bags you get from your local grocery store so the taste is pretty much like you would expect! The nice thing about this brand is that there is no extra ingredients like milk, wheat or soy. If you do decide to use alternative milk just know it will taste a bit different but not bad! The potatoes are pretty bland comparatively.
