Listed Dimensions are Incorrect; Beware of HDCP
Item seems to work as advertised with non-US disks. I will note that Amazon's packaging was a bit lazy, they should have used a box for this (as with any other electronics). Fortunately the item wasn't damaged in shipping. The dimensions listed on the seller's page seemed wildly incorrect with a listed height of 7", I am assuming these are for the box it comes in. The dimensions of the actual product are a much more reasonable 7 5/8" x 8 3/4" x 2", Depth x Length x Height. Nice and compact. For the huge nerds like me who plan to route the HDMI out through a 4K upscaler, be advised that the player outputs HDCP.

This machine is very poor quality
The machine worked fine for a couple of weeks but then began freezing up. Then it began to not play from the main menu at all. I have had Philips products before and felt that the quality was solid, not any more. This is not a good product and I would not purchase again. Run, don't walk away from this machine.

Great Picture Quality
I bought this DVD player to play my vast collection of UK DVD's. It does this really well and the picture Quality looks excellent on my US TV. I accidentally put a USA disk in the other day and it said region not recognized. I thought this was supposed to be multiregion.

Works well but doesn't show time stamps, time remaining, etc.
This works OK, and did the job for me in terms of playing DVDs from outside the USA. It is acceptable for the price, which is quite low. the three issues I had were: 1) It does not display any time line when you pause the DVD so you have no idea how much time left, or what timestamp you want to come back to if you want to stop a movie and come back to finish it a different day; 2) It did not come with an HDMI cable, as advertised, so I had to go get another one; 3) I did have a DVD that had trouble playing, but I can't know for sure if it's the DVD itself, or the player. It's probably the DVD that was scratched since other DVDs played normally.

Excellent value for the price.
Exactly as described: it plays every different region DVD & CD that I've tried. The remote is large enough to hold & press comfortably but uncluttered & intuitive in design.2 minor quirks: the timer starts again at 0:00 every time the chapter changes while playing DVDs, & if the player's left on pause too long it defaults to the Philips opening screen which is fine. But then, when playback begins again, it automatically adds subtitles. A bit quirky but easy to fix: press the 'subtitles' button on the lower-left of the remote until 'off' appears & you're set.Yes. it has a foreign plug. Yes, an adapter that works perfectly is included. So what?Whichever deck you choose, absolutely avoid the Panasonic DVD-S700 HDMI 1080P Up-Converting All Multi Region Code Zone Free PAL/NTSC DVD Player.

Works
Set up was easy just plug and play. I have watched USA and UK dvd's so far and works perfectly. This is my 2nd Phillips. The 1st worked several years then the eject quit. Still I trusted this brand.

Plays PAL but not ALL US DVD's.
Received a different model #. Does not play ALL. Plays PAL DVD's but not all US pre-recorded DVD's. Complained to seller who was awesome and sent a replacement, which unfortunately is the same model # as first and does the same thing. Kept as $ value is good and basically wanted for PAL, but lost the convenience of ALL being playable.
