I tend to always wash toys and perches before I give them to my feathered friends. This ladder was the perfect size for my red lored amazon, but while washing the colors did bleed. I just rinsed it for about 5 minutes until color stopped coming off. The ladder still looks vibrant and bright. Smooth finish makes wiping it down a breeze. Overall it is a great purchase

I loved the thickness and durability of this ladder. My blue fronted amazon loves it. We use it as more of a perch inside his cage He has an easier time with sleeping with the thicker wood. It’s nice and colorful. Well worth the money!

This ladder is good quality, much better than most of the cheap plastic ones you find in the stores. My aging cockatiel is having balance problems and needed something to help her climb with more stability, and this fits the bill nicely. If you have a bird that likes to chew on wood, it might not last very long--I don't think it would last more than 2 weeks in my caique's cage.

I bought this ladder and it nearly killed my bird from toxic paint lead poisoning and I am writing to warn anyone who considers this an option TO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I didnt even think this could be dangerous considering it is being sold for birds but my parrot became so ill and was hospitalized for 12 days. I brought him home and within a couple days he was having seizures again from this ladder. I looked desperately on line about what this could be from and I found an article and blog about dangerous bird toys from China tat are painted with paint. Bird toys are suppose to be wood soaked and colored by food coloring not paint. When I took this ladder out it was hard to tell at first but then I noticed red paint on the metal hooks at the top of the ladder. I am so disgusted that these products are being sold and that I endangered my bird. I have had her since birth for 16 years and never any health issues until I put this ladder in her cage. She was better when she came home from the hospital after 12 days but as soon as she was put back in her cage and exposed to thus ladder sitting on it and chewing it she started again with the odd behavior, ripped all her feathers out and started batting her wings against her body and shaking. This is toxic lead poisoning. Protect your birds and only buy American all natural bird toys!

The ladder is sturdy looking, but if it gets the least bit damp, the dye runs badly. I didn't use it for my birds, as I have no way of knowing whether the dye is safe for the.
