The product performs ok, but the stated "200 day warranty" is useless if you can't contact the manufacturer. The lamp exploded and failed after 187 days. Can't find a telephone number to contact manufacturer. Tried to email them and got no response. When deciding whether or not to purchase this lamp, I don't recommend using the warranty as a factor.***Update***Manufacturer sent a replacement bulb which worked well and resolved my issues. Thank you.

Update: They sent me a new lamp, free of charge, and it works just like the factory original. We'll see how long it lasts. End of update.The last Sony replacement lamp that I bought, I paid $250 for and it, only lasted 1800 of the expected 3000 hours. So, I thought, what the heck, I'll just go with an aftermarket one for 1/3 the money. This Araca product description claimed 2000 lumens (factory spec) brightness. Also, of the many lamps offered, it was an "Amazon Choice." I was highly disappointed. The brightness was no where near the brightness of the Sony lamp and the picture looked washed-out and dim. So, I ordered another non-Sony OEM lamp, which claimed to have an OEM Phillips bulb. This one was 1/2 the price of the Sony lamp. It is as bright as the original and the picture quality is great. This makes me really wonder how a product becomes an "Amazon Choice.?"

They sent me a defective bulb. I always order with them because of their 200-day warranty on all bulbs, but now I cannot get ahold of anyone there to assist with replacing the dud they sent me.Buy your bulbs elsewhere, this company just lost one of their most frequent customers.

It's fine. Not great. Unsurprisingly, the picture quality is not as good as the OEM bulb. It didnt last nearly as long as the OEM bulb - 4 months to the day. The main reason for the two-star review is that there was no warning that the bulb was about to go out. The OEM gave several warnings and allowed time to order a replacement. This bulb just went out. My family watches our projector every day, so I had to order another generic (the Amazon "Overall Pick" replacement bulb) because the OEM does not offer expedited shipping.We'll see how this one works.

The screw plastic restricters are set too long, meaning the screw can move around, and when attempting to fit, it is almost impossible to locate the crew directly in the hole. I had to yank the screw completely out of the frame, removeing the stop. Then fit the fixture, and put the crew in once it fixture is fully inserted, then the acrew will go into the hole. I fought the thing for an hour , before i gave up and compared the new lamp to the old on. The old lamp had the screw flush with the surface.

Some replacement bulbs are tricky to fit in and tighten the screws. Not this one. Dropped right in, screws tightened without being finicky.None of that matters if it isn't a bright, clean light source and this is as good as the original.It does not come with a screwdriver tool, but most people have a Phillips head screwdriver laying around, as I do, so I'm not counting that against the rating.

I have my projector mounted upside down and thought this would be a big project. It did not turn out that way at all. I am back to watching b-ball in about 20 minutes and the picture is bright and sharp. Great product!

This brand of replacement lamp for my Sony projector is the fourth brand I have tried. This was the last different one purchased out of four. Needless to say the others were unsatisfactory for my liking. I have repurchased this brand once again because besides maintaining color and brightness I received 1140 hours through fourteen months of use before the lamp gave out. There is just no comparison to the others. Quality and price can't be beat.
