Great Slicker Suit!!
Needed a new rainsuit because after a number of tropical storms and named hurricanes here in southeast Texas, my current suit was still functional but wearing at the seams. Sometimes it is necessary to go outside in the bad weather to clear french drains and large tree limbs and debris from my yard and street to ensure my house is not affected. Settled on the Amazon Choice of water resistant, value and sturdiness and am ready for whatever this Hurricane Season throws at us, but hopefully it will hang in in the outside wardrobe locker ready in case it is needed. Keeping my fingers crossed for this!!

Extremely Flimsy
The jacket zipper was inoperable upon receipt. The jacket has buttons so remained usable without the zipper. As my pants pockets were inaccessible while wearing the rain pants and jacket, I placed my wallet and cell phone in the right front pocket of the rain jacket for ease of accessibility. Well, as soon as I stood up with this load in the pocket, the pocket tore away under the weight of wallet and cell phone and dumped them both onto the wet ground (fortunately not into mud). By the end of the day the pants had torn from the crotch to each knee and were discarded in the trash. Yes, not even one full day of use out of the pants. I suppose it can be said that the suit ultimately did its job as it kept me dry during a very rainy day but the pants were no longer usable, the jacket zipper was not functional and one pocket was torn away (I didn't use the other pocket as I now didn't trust it to hold anything with any weight.) Very, very flimsy rain suit.

Cheap, WaterPROOF, Run Small
I bought this rain suit looking for inexpensive, 100% waterproof, NON-breathable rain gear that I could wear doing dirty chores in the outdoors and at the stables. These deliver exactly what they promise. They don’t purport to be anything more than what I described. They smell like plastic when you first open them, because they are some kind of impervious plastic-like material. The collar has a thin layer of cloth which is nice. The hood detaches, which, if you are like me, and sometimes wear a different kind of rain hat, that’s useful. So overall, they get five stars because they’re exactly what I expected and what I wanted.Having said that, I WILL say that they do run small. I’m 6’4”, 250 pounds at the moment. That’s dad bod, not linebacker. The 2XL was just a fraction too tight to wear comfortably over any kind of warm gear. I haven’t ordered it yet, and although I would normally be an XL or in some things a 2XL I might try the 3 XL or 4 XL in this product.By the way, you might ask why I wanted a non-breathable fabric: In my experience, every breathable waterproof fabric ever made eventually gets soaked and water gets through. This is true of my very expensive name-brand-sporting-goods-store, breathable, oh so lightweight, waterproof pants and outer shell. They’re also too expensive to abuse. This set is exactly what I need for the kind of dirty work I need to do sometimes. No wet-through; inexpensive; bingo!

Keeps you dry till you work up a sweat.
For the price this is acceptable. The pockets fell off almost immediately. Why even bother putting them on the coat? They are small and rip right off the face of the coat with first use.Aside from that this coat/pant combo will keep you dry. But only because it is made from waterproof material. Minimal breathing also means you will sweat like a pig with moderate physical activity. So if you plan to wear this outdoors while working in the rain, plan to get wet, but not from the rain.

Great work gear
Bought for work purposes. Pretty well made with solid materials. Keeps me dry and warm. A heavier duty set, with good motion and durabilty. Do recommend

Jacket is amazing but…
I bought a large size to fit over my clothes comfortably. I picked something up and the pants split about 7 inches. I had to duct taped them. The jacket is fantastic.

Pioneer Should Provide a Replacement or Money Back for Poor Quality Heavy Rainsuits
I purchased 3 of these Pioneer Heavyweight rain suits unfortunately didn't get to wear them until April 2025. These no Heavy Weight Rain suit couldn't even handle one April rain in NYC. After just one wear these "heavy weight" pants didn't keep us dry, the waterproof coating actual cracked off like very old paint on a wall. The yellow coloring started developing these dark black marks throughout both the rain jacket and pants, after getting wet from the rainstorm. We're beyond disappointed on the poor value and quality for price, since all we did was walk around with them and not any actual outdoor work with them on. Actually shocked Pioneer company which states to be in business since 1887 has survived with such a terrible product like this Heavy Wear Rain suit set . We should get replacement rain suit set, if not receive full refund of our money back for trusting this beyond failed poor quality product that couldn't last at least one NYC rainy day.
