Love, love, love these quality glasses!
I've always been a fan of Libby glassware. If you have teenagers like I do, then you know they can be hard on dishes, but who wants to drink from plastic glasses all the time? I was tired of all the random glassware in my cabinets & ordered my first set of Libby glasses. These are the second type I've tried, they are larger and heavier and definitely restaurant quality! I love all their glassware, but these are especially well made and a nice hefty glass for iced tea or whatever you want. Love them!

Finally! Large, solid, drinking glasses at long last!
These glasses are FANTASTIC! They arrived very very carefully packed with strong cardboard dividers for each glass (and I mean STRONG, not wimply bendy cardboard) and solid styrofoam packing on both the top and bottom. Each glass arrived in perfect condition, and I could barely contain my glee! These are hefty (i.e. quite heavy) glasses that are certainly not fragile and about to break the second you accidentally clip the counter or coffee table, and (JOY!) they hold, with ice, an actual normal-sized can of soda (if you can still find one that is) or a good amount of iced tea. Or a couple of mojitos, G&Ts, etc. in one glass if you are out enjoying the weather and don't want to traipse indoors after a couple of sips (as you have to with most drinking and drinks glasses these days).I put these glasses directly into the dishwasher and they washed up like a dream, fitting very easily on the top shelf of my dishwasher (which is older and made for normal-sized everything, not the tiny versions we get these days). As they are rather heavy and tall/large, they are probably not at all good for kiddie hands.I just couldn't be happier with these glasses and only wish I had found them last year when I was looking for drinking glasses and could only find wimpy little glasses that barely held (with ice) those ridiculous "mini" cans of soda that sell for the same price as the old normal-sized cans.If you need normal (actually even larger than the old normal) drinking glasses, don't mind a bit of heft, then don't hesitate, these are the glasses for you!

Large, Heavy-Duty, with Classic Styling
When I picked up the box after these were delivered, I thought I must have mistakenly ordered two sets because one set of glasses couldn't be this heavy. But no, it was a single order of 12 glasses - I just didn't realize they would be so heavy and so solid, which is a good thing. These weigh over 1-1/2 pounds each - that's a lot of glass. The bottoms are thick, so these are bottom-heavy less likely to be accidentally knocked over (something I do quite often), and the rest of the glass is also thick. This seems to be commercial-quality glassware that you would find in a restaurant and I expect them to hold up well. One more thing: These do, in fact, hold a full 22 ounces when filled to the brim. I measured. The reviewers who say that they only hold 16 ounces must have ordered the wrong item, or the wrong glasses were shipped to them. Libbey does make a 16-oz version of this glass, and it just takes a click of a button in the listing to switch to that item instead. If you order the 22-oz iced tea glass and it doesn't hold a full 22 ounces, you have the wrong item.

Impressed with the Quality of Libbey Gibraltar Tumbler Glasses Set of 12, 16-Ounce
I first purchased a set of Libbey glasses in 2013 from Amazon. We still have half of the original set. I appreciate the quality construction. We use them for ice tea and water and they are always on the table for daily family meals. They are a good value and complement our dinnerware. I like that they are dishwasher safe. They arrived in perfect condition.

Durable, Commercial Grade Great Choice For Everyday Family Glasses
Very subtle tint, not nearly as amber as in the photos here. Thicker rim for durability. I expect decades of service. Based on my limited recent research, these are similar in size as a “double old fashioned” glass, which tend to be around 14 oz compared to these 12 ouncers. Regardless, they’re the perfect for cocktails the size I like. My kids will use them as water glasses. I may come back and get the tall “tumbler” size as well.

24 oz version is very heavy for a glass, but big and sturdy. Not for those with weak arm strength.
These glasses (24 oz version) are extremely heavy. Don't get these expecting grade schoolers or older senior citizens will be able to use them, even with two hands. Never thought I'd say that about drinking glasses, but they are likely the heaviest I have ever encountered: 1 lb, 10 oz each (empty) as weighed on my cooking scale. They are obviously substantial and thick, which is a huge plus. I love that about the Gibraltar series. I've had the 14 oz version for close to 20 years with only one broken. Probably why they are used so much by restaurants.I bought these for two reasons: 1) as mentioned, we already had the Gibraltar series, so wanted to match styles, and 2) I routinely found the 14 oz version too small for a full serving of the carbonated water that I have with dinner. There's no real Gibraltar size in between 14 and 24 ounces that I've seen, but if there were, an 18 or 20 ounce might have been an ideal balance between liquid quantity and weight of the glasses.I'm a middle aged guy with decent sized hands and hand/arm strength and I'm beginning to question how much I'll use these for everyday drinking (water, iced tea, soda, etc.). They seem best suited to serving XL draft beers at the corner bar -- which is probably the biggest use case -- than for home use with non-alcoholic beverages. If you're thinking about getting the 24 oz version of these glasses, do yourself a favor and weigh a glass you have now to compare at scale. Our 14 oz Gibraltars weigh as much as they hold: 14 ounces. That's a substantial but manageable weight. I don't think many folks want to go too far above that unless there's a handle attached. And the 24 oz Gibraltars weigh 26 oz.If you're cool with the weight, I think you'll love these. A classic design that goes with plenty of decor options, one that is far less likely to break than your average beverage glass. Replacements and different sizes are likely to be around for a very long time. It may very well outlive you. And at the 24 oz size, there's rarely a need to refill.
